When I sat in the Pontoon during the 2001/2002 season, the old boy next to me, who sat with his wife (with small dog in her handbag!), had a Menno Willems rocket straight to the schnozz in the warm up. Glasses went everywhere, as did blood from said schnozz. Did Willems look to apologise? Did he intercourse and why would he? As far as I could tell he was clearly paid a small fortune to miss the goal and bloody good at it he was too.

I saw Gary Moore at the Central Hall. Rubbish at football but surprisingly good on the guitar.

Married to Dave Booth's daughter wasn't he?

Yeah - him and Gary Moore weren't exactly the perfect replacements for Tees and Green were they?

In a word....... no!

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.

I seem to remember him having some kind of local connection but can't recall what it was. That does ring a bell though.

I'd always heard something like that - something about a party to celebrate the wedding in North Thoresby and Phil Lynott staggering down the high street drunk and walking in to somebody's house.

They both lived in Albert Road next door to my mates Parents Bed and Breakfast,

They loved taking the top off their sports car to drive along the seafront looking for girls.

Such a shame it wasn't a soft top.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

At the time a friend of mine frequented The Mill House at Covenham. Gary Moore booked the wedding in a marquee on the lawn, arranged the food etc but then told the totally bewildered landlord that they didn't need his "disco", they would bring their own entertainment. On the day, an articulated lorry arrived with the bands equipment.

The whole place was drunk dry. After the beer ran out, all the spirits disappeared too.

I was at Boston a few years ago and the ball whizzed into the stand, As I swayed out of the way the bloke next to me but a protective arm up and the ball ricocheted into my head smashing my brand new specs.
