Think we need Niven, they're a good (for conference south) attacking side.

I'd probably go with rattray's team apart from I'd have macca. Could be a chance for Brodie to open his account. Don't know if Devitt will be fit to start, PH said something about him being 'nearly there' on mariners player.

Devitt is at least 2 to 3 weeks away from full match fitness and fortunately from the first look of him last week he is already match sharp.

Decided I can only afford one game so no welling today but will be at Braintree instead.

Would like a nice big win today but will settle for a Hannah goal in a one/two nil win

Devitt has to start today. I'm no expert but match fitness requires matches! I'd also pick 10 other players.
Posted by: chaos33, January 12, 2013, 2:22pm; Reply: 22
In the iterests of nurturing Devitt back to fitness I'd be looking to try for 45 minutes out of him, so would probably start him on the bench. Think Brodie and Hannah will start and Cook on the bench. Wouldn't change anyone else, especially the middle of midfield. Miller in for Pond takes care of itself. Would this be a time to bring some fringe players on to the bench and give them another chance by using them as subs? Soares? Southwell? Artus?

Start him, see how long he lasts, I'd like to say 60min but after last week I can't see it. Bring colbeck on, it will give Colbeck something to prove and hopefully friendly competion.

Welcome Back Hannah

Yeah fair enough. I was just thinking that the first 20/30 minutes could be fast and frantic and wondered if this was the best use of his energy - using it all up closing down, covering etc. Think it'd be better to bring him on at half time or for the last half hour. Also, to a point, it could be said that this would protect him slightly more from injury (or recurrance of injury) in a game that isn't as important as a league match. We wouldn't be looking for him to do too much too soon and it would probably also be kinder to Joe Colbeck.

that team, plus hearn to come back, can win us the league and fa trophy.

having, Thanoj, Cook on the bench is awesome, Greg Pearson, artus, soares all not even getting in the squad, what a great position we are in.

Bench would also normally have Bradley Wood on it too when Thomas returns.  We have a very strong squad now.  Surprised to see Southwell on the bench instead of Pearson but I guess they can use Southwell on the wing as well up top.  Hope we dont take Welling too lightly, if not we may get turned over

Wrexham, not Newport.  All very very tight, not just for top spot but play off spot also.

Cook has sounded as though he has a point to prove since he came on, a bit of hunger that Brodie didn't sound to have.  UTM

Town win and FGR held to draw vs second bottom Nuneaton.  Not a bad days work. Pity the Imps couldn't achieve a result at home to Newport but we can still go back top if we win on Friday nite and in to final 8 of the trophy. Double still in our sights. utm

You fans were a credit i reckon 200-250 there today. We gave you a proper game and feel a bit unlucky. Your keeper made one immense save and think we had a penalty shout ignored.

Good luck for the rest of the season, hope your fans and team get back safely.

There will be match highlights up very late tonight (between 1230 and 2am hopefully)

The winning goal was a superb strike one for the end of season DVD.

PS found out today why your video is not HD, Its impossible to upload to mariners player so they have to upload standard quality. I think its the company that run all the players being behind the times, its not GTFC's fault at all and the camera is capable of superb video.

Hopefully our paths cross again, was a pleasure if a little gutting to lose today.

I really enjoyed today - an entertaining game and a super club to visit. I thought a draw would probably have been fair, but I doubt either club would really have wanted the extra game. Certainly wouldn't be surprised to see Welling in the Conference next season on today's evidence.

Speaking to a Welling fan afte rthe game, he was saying they couldnt afford a replay, travel expenses etc, and the players havent been paid for 2 weeks.  No idea how true this is :/
