John Tondeur ‏@JohnTondeur 1m
Liam Hearn warming up with  others.  Definitely involved in some way.

No other team news yet.

Marcus Marshall & Jamie Devitt out.

Colbeck, Wood & Thanoj the famous 'trouser wearers'. I can only think Artus at left mid and Taylor right, which is a baffling choice. Becoming used to that.

Mckeown

Hatton Miller Pearson Thomas

Taylor Naylor Disley Artus

Cook Hannah

subs;

Colbeck
Hearn
Thanoj
Wood

Baffling selections on the wing.

Just been announced that Matthew Barnes-Homer is out injured for the rest of the
season.

Good team again, just the wings rotated then, and Thomas back. Wingers usually best position to rotate, don't really like Artus on the wing but he has done well recently in the center, hopefully he does well tonight.

Don't want to Judge Taylor from Saturday as almost the entire team was shite on Saturday

Wouldn't be suprised if it was something like this...

...............McKeown
Hatton....Pearson..Miller....Thomas
Taylor..<-.Disley..<-Naylor..<-Artus
......\....Cook.....Hannah

i.e. 442/433 where Taylor pushes forward and Artus & co can shuffle over to the right into a central midfield 3.

Sorry it's LJL.

I like 9 of the team but to play a guy left wing who isn't even a winger. Then dropping two wingers completely out of the squad is just typical, all this after winning a game last time out.

At least we know Artus will put in a shift based on his last couple of appearances

Their little winger Mcreth? is also out and he skins us every game against us. Great player at this level and would of liked to of seen him last summer with cookie they linked up well for barrow

Team selection not that baffling to me.

We only played 48 hours ago and no doubt Marshall & Colbeck put in a real shift, especially bearing in mind the work wingers have to do getting up and down constantly.

Spine of the team is unchanged.

agreed, if you have to rotate anywhere, the wingers is the best place to rotate, they are the ones who should have pace and be able to get past their man.

Prefer not to rotate at all, especially when our only cover for one of the wingers is a central midfielder, but 4 games in 7 days is alot, granted.

At least they have  kept the spine of the team as you say despite only playing two days ago.

Artus out wide is the only one that worries me abit, although he should be solid.
Posted by: Codswede, April 3, 2013, 7:35pm; Reply: 20
Anyone interested in a bet... Bookies don't recognise Naylor as a midfielder, nor that he's likely to feature at all. Naylor first goal and grimsby win is 50/1, big return for a wincast bet, obviously score cast will be higher. I've got a quid on anyway.

UTM and UTN.

How do you even know WHERE they're playing ?
Even JT concedes it could be 433. (I think it'll interchange between 442 and 433)
Make complete sense to me.
Anyway well done for slagging the team off before a ball is even kicked.  :-/

Midfiled three to help keep possession releasing Taylor to get down the wing. I quite like it. Slightly more defensive.  Good news that their best forward and best winger are out. Good chance of a clean sheet tonight (famous last words....)

Hearn on the bench!  Wonder if he will get 15 minutes at the end? A few sub apperarances is what we need to build him up towards a play offs.

Actually I can remember Town signing with them but like yourself I can't remember what the coverage was like, anyone else remember?

they did and it was rubbish and local only.

people complain about RH all they want but its coverage for a NL side is excellent, some clubs at this level don't even have any BBC coverage so be thankful we get to listen to our games.

I think Mansfield have some local Notts station for their home games and they play music every 5 mins in the middle of the match.

Get a DAB radio people. No problems whatsoever with my commentary.

We need a Kissock type in our side. When will we get someone in midfield to run a game?

We can defend, we can score goals, but for me the midfield is still lacking. Don't create enough and can't control a game when we are in front. Plus poor delivery from most set pieces.

PS why the feck does Mckeown insist on wasting time so early? About 60 minutes gone and it's so obvious what he's doing. Can see him getting booked sooner or later which means any time wasting later and he'll run the risk of a second yellow!

As good of a keeper greg flemming may be, he probably wouldn't be able to cope with being peppered by shots like machine gun bullets, we'd lose about 20-0

Has McKeown got a year left personally I would give him a new deal along with Pearson, Wood, Hearn, and Miller and Dizza if they are due for renewal, stuff waiting till what league were in.  Unless of course it's down to the player.

I said i'd be happy with 6 points out of this 4 game week, someone replied and said we need 9, well theres a good chance we'll get 10. Im glad we had a bad run, because now we can have a good run, rather than be sort of decent but inconsistant like I suspect wrexham and maybe newport will be going into the playoffs. Don't wanna speak too soon though.

Well done to all involved tonight. Credit to the players and the managers. Played with real purpose. Went for the win. Tactics were effective. Individuals gave their all. Brilliant.

I'd also like to thank the grimsby town first team coach driver who went a wierd way and got caught in traffic to get this game strategically delayed

am delighted and buzzing after a very important result. before the match i would have been very happy a point as lets face it macclesfield are no mugs , they were only 2 places below us in the league and only got relegated into BSP this season.   a massive 3 points and congratulations to all involved in getting a great result.

Look at it this way, shows we must be pretty good at defending corners, if a team can only get a few corners then they probably won't score from them (touch wood)

Mathmatically only 9 points required to seal the playoffs

Ebbsfleet were caught in traffic tonight and the game went ahead late kick off 8:45 I think.  Maybe Macclesfield wished it went ahead, after all we would have been tired from the trip.

who needs 13 corners when you have Artus.

One corner one goal.
