Half time 1-1, Town started well but then conceded to their first real attack.

FGR reduced to 10 men and after 5 minutes trying to adjust, Town have been much better.  HANNAH equalised and then McDONALD volleyed on teh roof of the stand just on half time.

Time to re-group and make sure we come out up for the game and take it to them.  Plenty of possession and pressure will result on goals, we still have a strong bench including HEAR, NEILSEN and JONES.  Must keep going at them though and this is here for the taking, nothing other than 3 points today please!

Classic comment from Tondeur for those listening online...
End of first half, still live... But he thinks it's gone back to the studio...

"I don't know what's going on here".  !!!!!

The legions of fans who live too far away to get to BP will not disagree there John.

Need to switch on here from set pieces and get the ball wide to Colbeck /Rodman as it doesn't sound as though they have had a touch this half yet.

Att 3150 (20 FGR), sounds quiet but the team haven't really given the fans anything to get going yet.  Need a change I think, Neilsen for Colbeck.

Agree with you there but I would maybe take Hannah off and bring another centre Midfielder on, then we can use Cook as a target and keep one midfielder back.

GIMPS are losing 4-1

Mariners have won 3-1

Not a bad day at all, the result is what matters.  Didn't sound too bad today and not really under severe pressure from FGR.

Great win, 3 points in the bag.

He does seem to have his favourites ie dizza although hasnt started very well.  I was surprised to see paddy on the bench every time I've seen him he's been the standout midfielder.   Colbeck has got back into the team far too quickly for me.

anyway good result and keeps the momentum going.

Agree with the above, I just don't get the obsession with Colbeck .  Doesn't have a football brain
Posted by: chaos33, October 19, 2013, 7:00pm; Reply: 83
Yep, Colbeck seems to have been reinstated swiftly and I don't really get that, because for me, he's very average indeed. How did he play today?

Seems we opted for a conventional 4-4-2 today at the expense of Paddy, but credit to Hurst; it paid off. I would always prefer Rodman and Nielson as my wide players but perhaps Hurst wanted to use Nielson in precisely the way it transpired - as a high impact sub against a tiring team chasing the game.

Another interesting selection choice was that of Hearn on the bench.

Ditto.

Also gave it a miss, but glad we won. Didn't miss it at all to be honest and it's a bit worrying to see over a 1000 drop on the last home gate.

Coulbeck playing over Neilson sums up PH for me. Too defensive. especially at home to a side who are in freefall.

Disley, Kerr and Coulbeck in midfield hardly get the pulses racing.

Still, a win is a win.

To be fair Ginny I think the top of the table / 1st v 2nd clash brought a fair few extra along the other Tuesday

Not sure how many fans Cambridge had in that crowd too so whilst the crowd was lower I think it was to be expected (especially after the two defeats)

What we need to do to maintain a crowd closer to 4000 every time is to keep on winning...easier said than done I know but the more there is a chance of seeing success, the more that people might be tempted to come back

On the same theme - I expect it will be a really poor gate on Saturday v Rushall

No concessions on the price as far as I know and I was disappointed to see that the reduced ticket prices that you can "take advantage of" if you've got a season ticket, don't apply to the FA Cup or the FA Trophy. When you're supposed to use them I really don't know!  :-/
