Come on Town, seem to be getting back into it now.

Pearson just had one cleared off the line, ball out now for a corner.

We are better in getting the ball wide as JT keeps saying, just need to get on the end of the crosses.

We had this ref last season at Hartlepool against Gatesheed (I think).

0-1 at half time, Hursty will sit em down and sort em out.  Believe and keep the faith!

Doesn't it just.

Sounds like it's being spoiled by a f***ing to$$er of a ref.
Posted by: gary_elton, December 10, 2013, 9:10pm; Reply: 17
sounds like if we do get anywhere near we are fouled... referee leaving everything to his linesmen....

and to think I nearly did the 220 mile round trip , I would've been a bit annoyed by now...

this has 0-1 or even 0-2 written all over it   (  trying to nudge things along by sayin that )
Posted by: chaos33, December 10, 2013, 9:15pm; Reply: 18
We're just being fouled and fouled and fouled. We're not going to get anything out of this game because the Ref is too f***ing weak.

I reckon theres at least 3 better teams in this league than us this season ,put it this way non of the top 3 would have lost to these at home

Kerr and Disley cannot play so many games in quick succession - poor midfield display and no guile to break down a highly defensive side.

So lucky to grab an equaliser from Dayle.

Nice "assist" from McKeown!!

What a horrible match, everything that's wrong with this division all piled on in massive heaps but... GET IN THERE ! Right after the umpteenth Welling player lies down to eat up time. And with Kiddy losing at Woking thats' a great point. And well deserved, sounds like we beat a pretty awful team/referee tonight.
Posted by: Martz86, December 10, 2013, 9:43pm; Reply: 36
Kiddy had a hard time also after their FA Cup game, at least we pulled a point back but we should have been winning this game, maybe one or two fresh legs in the middle might have helped

I missed that moment of joy because I gave up on the commentary about 10 seconds before we scored. Lesson learned.  :-/

I did the same but rather than feeling a lesson's been learnt, I feel I played a major role in the goal. Basically I'm claiming an assist.

I have just watch Man Utd and they will rubbish again 3 games in a row,

So Town drawing is not a bad result,

We never gave up and fought to the end,

Well done to all but very poor attendance.

A point rescued, which is what you want when things are not going our way.

We will not have everything go our way.

Our aim has to be cement a play off spot then aim to challenge for the league.

Will the top two have a bad run? Who knows but still plenty of games. Injuries, weather, cup runs etc could play a huge part in the season

Think you are spot on there, i think the club needs to be a bit more pro-active on this -  Christmas is
an expensive time for all, we had a home game on Saturday and lets face it Welling Utd on a Tuesday night in December is far from the most attractive proposition, i reckon we have 3200 hard core fans at the moment, so that means  nearly 800 didn't bother, there has to be a reason for this awful attendance. which clearly isn't performance related, the trouble is that GTFC sometimes take the fans for granted IMHO, we are still  a non-league club after all and even tonights P-poor gate  would be classed as a bumper crowd for the majority, i realise it is tricky for the club because season ticket holders would probably object, but sometimes fans need to be encouraged from purely a financial point of view.
Just my view, others will disagree.

That's the difference for me with this team, That never say die attitude. ALL teams have bad days and maybe last season we would have given up at 90+ minutes and accepted defeat - But not this team!

I agree. A point gained on one of those frustrating nights when everything seems to be stacked against you.

Overall though we are a much better proposition than last seasons hoof and hope. Even tonight we kept trying to play proper football and I would be much more confident in the play offs if we could get there.

It was one of those nights when our best work was lost in the frustration of it all but it was great to get the goal and keep the unbeaten run going.

Funny how things are seen differently by others

http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kentonline/sport/healy-hits-wondergoal-in-wings-10035/

Seems it was "harsh on the Wings who produced an impressive defensive display to limit Grimsby to few chances"

No mention of their gamesmanship amongst their defensive tactics or the ref losing the plot allowing them to do as they pleased for most of the game

We move on but their antics last night won't win them many plaudits as good as a point at BP looks to the outside world
