Lets hope he keeps this up now. :)

FULL TIME: Grimsby Town 4 Tamworth 1

GRIMSBY Town are through to the semi-finals of the FA Trophy after beating Tamworth 4-1 at Blundell Park this afternoon.

First-half goals from Lenell John-Lewis and another from Oumare Tounkara on his home debut gave the Mariners a 2-0 lead at the break.  Dale Belford's Lambs came out with renewed intent in the second half and pulled one back though Nick Chadwick less than ten minutes after the restart. However, after stemming that resurgence, Town restored their advantage when Paddy McLaughlin rifled home with a crisp strike.  And with the game entering four minutes of stoppage time, sub Andy Cook got in on the act when he swept home from Jamal Fyfield's cross.

For a timeline of the action, see below.
FIRST HALF

00 min: Town get the game underway

03 mins: Lenell John-Lewis is slid through, but on the stretch and with the angle narrowing, he slides an effort past the foot of the post.

06 mins: Lloyd Kerry skips inside and fires well over James McKeown’s goal, while two minutes later, Wayne Thomas does well to block Oumare Tounkara’s effort.

15 mins: Sam Hatton drags a tame effort across goal but it falls into the path of John-Lewis who stretches to poke the ball over the bar.

16 mins: Tamworth win the games’ first corner but it’s easily claimed by McKeown.

18 mins: GOAL TOWN – Tounkara holds up the ball superbly before turning and sliding in John-Lewis, who calmly side-foots the ball past Belford and into the bottom corner. A well-worked opener for the hosts.

26 mins: Justin Richards volleys wildly over the bar as Tamworth look to hit back.

28 mins: Alex Rodman drops his shoulder and skips past a defender before being clipped to win down a free-kick, which comes to nothing.

30 mins: Jamal Fyfield is booked for tripping his man after he skipped by him, handing Tamworth a dangerous free-kick, which Fyfield himself heads away.

32 mins: Sam Hatton’s excellent blocking challenge prevents Darren Byfield from getting in on goal. From that, Town break and John-Lewis fires an effort on target at the other end.

40 mins: GOAL TOWN! Tounkara caps his home debut with a well-taken goal. Clayton McDonald steps out of defence before clipping a long ball over the top of the Tamworth defence. Tounkara races through and keeps his head to side-foot past the hesitant Belford.

42 mins: Veteran midfielder Gavin Mahon strikes a free-kick through the wall, but it’s straight down the throat of McKeown, who gathers in well.

44 mins: Tounkara races through again and almost finds John-Lewis free in the centre, but the ball is put behind for a corner.

SECOND HALF

45 mins – Joe Colbeck replaces the injured Alex Rodman at half-time.45 mins: Tounkara’s burst upfield earns Town an early corner.

46 mins: CHANCE TOWN: John-Lewis looks to have headed Scott Kerr’s delivery over the line but neither referee nor linesman give anything as Mahon hacks off the line.

51 mins: Byfield’s speculative effort deflects away for a corner and, after it is swung in, the ball is headed against the bar, but the referee blows for a push on Pearson.

54 mins: GOAL TAMWORTH: After a spell of pressure, Tamworth launch a long, flat ball into the box. Pearson fluffs his clearance and Nick Chadwick reacts first to grab one back for the Lambs.

57 mins: Buoyed by his goal, Chadwick drifts a free header wide of McKeown’s right-hand post.

58 mins: Tounkara slips his marker and drives towards goal before catching a fine effort across the goal that Belford has to palm away.

64 mins: McDonald’s excellent block denies Justin Richards from 12-yards out.

65 mins: Colbeck’s needless foul earns him a yellow card and hands Tamworth a dangerous free-kick which Kerry curls just over.

70 mins: GOAL TOWN: After being under the cosh for the opening 25 minutes of the half, Town grab a third through Paddy McLauglin. John-Lewis breaks the offside trap and advances on goal before firing a shot that Belford can only parry to the edge of the box. McLaughlin takes the ball and settles himself before firing into the bottom corner.

74 mins CHANCE TOWN: John-Lewis flicks just wide of Belford’s far post from Kerr’s in-swinging free-kick. Corner given and Pearson heads over the delivery.

78 mins: John-Lewis makes a mess of a chance from a twice-cleared corner when, after the ball falls to him yards out, he gets his legs in a tangle and the chance is cleared.

80 mins: The impressive Tounkara skips past two before squaring to John-Lewis. However the chance is snuffed out by Mahon.

81 mins: Kerr rifles a free-kick on target from a tight angle before being replaced by Andi Thanoj.

82 mins: An excellent clearing header from Sam Hatton prevents a chance for Tamworth at the back post.

85 mins: Andy Cook replaces Lenell John-Lewis.

90+2 mins: GOAL TOWN: Cook gets in on the scoring act when he strokes home from Jamal Fyfield’s centre after a superb run from cross.
