That looks like maybe 3 5 2 to me.

Posted by: chaos33, August 8, 2015, 2:42pm; Reply: 21
Bit surprised at that selection if it is 4-42, and more than a bit disappointed not to see Tait start - he's been absolutely outstanding in pre-season.

Still - have faith. Let's see how it plays.
Posted by: ginnywings, August 8, 2015, 2:44pm; Reply: 22
Squad looking surprisingly threadbare. Wouldn't have expected Venney and Clifton on the bench first game but good enough side out on the pitch. Tait's omission also surprising, unless Toto is in there for his height.

C'mon Town.

Early days blah blah. Garbage.
McKeon still failing with the absolute basics, Town still seemingly made nervous, not inspired by large following, still conceding the barely couple of chances made by opposition while taking approximately 1 chance out of every 10. There's only one group of people who could spoil the whole feel good factor after a quite incredible summer and that's the actual team.

But yeah, early days, time to gel.....
Posted by: TownSNAFU5, August 8, 2015, 5:03pm; Reply: 137
We have a lot of potential this season, particularly up front with our pace, movement and one-touch passing.

One good saying in football is "score when you are top".  We missed a hatful of chance before HT. This against a poor team.

Ultimately, these misses proved decisive and cost up 2 points that we had earned.   (Ironic that in friendlies we could not stop scoring).

We need to move forward to the next game.  Can't change today.

No reason not to keep the faith

Sounds like the performance was there today and apart from a couple of errors of judgement the three points would have been ours

On the balance of play we deserved to win today so no need for any of us to get down-hearted

We go again on Tuesday and I think we will get our first three points of the season in the bag, the first of many wins to come between now and April

Failure to put an inferior team to bed again. We simply must get more ruthless if we are to win this league. Fooking gutted.

Yup. An all too familiar feeling tonight.  :-/

I just hope this new goalkeeping coach can see the flaws with mckeown that others haven't managed to fix

You will never, ever see a more one sided draw in your life.

An all too worrying trend from last season. Let's hope that we quickly change this.

This.

James Mckeown is a very good goalkeeper at this level who just happens to have been hospitalised by a serious illness a few  weeks back.

Did that impair his ability to deal with crosses last year too?

Same old same old.

Comfortably the better team and winning comfortably - cue a defensive sub and a late equalaliser.

Chester MKII.

So frustrating hurst hasn't learned from his mistakes. The positives were the back 4, amond and monkhouse. The negative is that kiddy away should be 3 points for a team who has ambitions to win the league. They are terrible.

Feel horrendous, should of won easily as we were much the better team! But am not going to let one gutting result ruin the positivity. Lot of the same old excrement to deal with perhaps but in terms of our play that was a very good performance and shows the way for the future!

Have to admit that i thought taking off Amond was a strange one for me.

Jack was a defensive sub? I dont understand, or maybe you mean his role when he came on? Sorry, I wasnt there so I didnt see what you saw

He is an overrated keeper for me and was not great last season. Still not the end of the world have

2 points spunked away, 135 left to play for. Big test on Tuesday night - get over the ridiculous home opener issue and we're away.

Mackreth for Amond, Arnold going up top...not really defensive is it

Gutted. Noticed that Eastleigh started with a 4-0 thumping of Southport away. But lets take 3 points on Tuesday and move on...

If Hurst felt he absolutely needed to take a striker off it should have been Bogle who was completely knackered with fifteen minutes to go. Amond on the other hand was still chasing down our midfield's punts over the top and kept them under pressure. I'm not sure Mackreth even did anything in his time on the pitch.

Absolutely disgraceful, clearly the only point that Kiddy will get this season, how bad are we?

Come on guys get a grip ffs, it's one game and no doubt at some point we'll get a point we don't deserve.  Let's move on.

Taking an in form dangerous striker off and bring on a hard working trier of midfielder is absolutely defensive. I admit Arnold was given a free role but we definitely tried to shut up shop.

We were in total control after the sub as well as before until nobody tried to stop the cross and nobody challenged for the header. We played well today but the players take responsibility for the dropped points for me - fail to see that PH is to blame.

McKeown is the best keeper in the league, he may struggle with crosses but remember we are the conference level and sveryone has flaws. Boyle staying on and Podge off was odd, but hey we will still bounce back; Arnold was fantastic!

Was McKeown at fault for their 2nd. From the other end I thought it looked miles away from him?

#Thistownknows

The only thing this town knows is many are too over confident.

I wont get carried away with silly talk, we drew away at kiddy is it a bad point ? No not really.

Why so many expect on here expect 3 points is silly, its quite arrogant all this #thistownknows excrement.

Im only interested in winning this league this year but do i know we will win it ? No but i cant think a point away at kiddy is a bad result, its the way yet again we give 3 points away.

Sense deja vu.

I expect nothing else but the title this season  ,you might be happy to have low expectations but I'm not and I believe these players and manager need to be let known that we are not here to make up the numbers this season.Sort it out !
