Any sniff of team news? It's usually pretty tight. C'mon the Mariners.

The changes aren't particularly surprising, the midfield 3 at Lincoln put in a big shift and if they're feeling tired at all, then they shouldn't start

Posted by: RoboCod, August 31, 2015, 2:42pm; Reply: 12
Thought Diz would start, understandable if he didn't make it through the 90 mins. All 3 dropped players can make impact as subs, but we need a fast start and goals to show for it today.

Anyway, it's Town, anything can, and probably will happen...

happy with most of that but i just don't rate Mackreth. Unless Arnold is knackered i'd have liked to have seen him stay there

I know how some feel about Mackreth i don't think he is crap just sometimes frustrates people by not taking on his fullback enough but playing against his old club how many times have we seen ex players come to haunt them.

Good luck Mackreth this your opportunity so i hope you take it.

Sounds as though Robinson is anonymous again - as he was against Torquay. Only Vance Warner has put in a less effective performance in a Town game that I've seen.

He was 'deliberately' finding himself marked until their keeper fumbled his seventh touch of the match towards the last quarter and Torquay became stretched.

Tondeur has just described what sounds to be the exact same phenomenon occurring today - Robinson never in space to receive - though Buckley did try to mitigate that it was Macc cb and cm affecting this. Hmmm.

We need eleven men; this guy is a kid - and a scared one - at that...

EDIT - Macc just scored and we're up against it despite having 80% of the play again. Not sure what's going on this season but it's beginning to look more than just variance...Gutted  :B

Let's turn this around! Cmon Town! UTM

Just no reason AT ALL to be 1-0 down. A clean sheet looks impossible this season.

But...how can Hurst be even brought into this? His strikers have missed chances and his keeper has fumbled about with no danger present.

Wow. The curse continues.

We've been all over them.  A total sucker punch blow by Macc.  They've offered nothing at all, but, once again, a team that has been outplayed capitalises on a bloody awful error on our behalf.

I'm a big fan of McKeown's, but his level of performance this season has been exceptionally poor.  If he isn't 100% right, he should not be playing.  His kicking and judgement this season so far has been woeful.  I don't know what's up: he's better than this.

No way is that Maccas fault and if you think it then you are deluded. He has flown through the air superbly to nick the ball off the head of an attacker.

If you want to blame anyone then blame the outfield players defending for not cleaning up after what was an excellent keepers palming away of the ball in the air. The outfield players were then slow to react and/or block.

I think one or two people on here are guilty of jumping on an anti Macca bandwagon including the idiot sat in seat P6 in the Upper Findus right now

Why are we still comparing our points tally and difference from Forrest Green.. It's cringey, we're a million miles away and performing with the consistency of a lower mid table team.  We play well often but don't get the results required that our fantastic fan base, history and club deserve. We are the non league Leeds so far.

It sounds like we've missed too many chances (again) and too many changes (again) No disrespect to Macclesfield but we should be beating them at home (especially with the run they are on)

I'd love to hear a detailed footballing analysis of why the team isn't performing, from someone like Buckley or to hear some of what other teams' scouts are saying about us.

I'd imagine the following would appear:

"They'll give you chances"
"Prone to mistakes"
"Complacent"
"Susceptible to deep crosses"
"Lose concentration or discipline"

I can see why Hurst wants to change the team after a gruelling derby, but surely the squad needs some consistency for partnerships and understandings to develop.  Perhaps we've been so spoiled with supposedly decent signings we've got a squad of individuals, to be interchanged on a whim?

Well, they'll give you just one or two chances but you WILL take them. They give you no choice. Other than that, and our lack of belief in pushing forward in the last minutes, you're right.

You must all shut up and keep your opinions to yourselves. You are not at the game.

Unless you want to say positive things.

That's Kiddy, Alty and Macc fans all unbelievably grateful for our generosity (the 2 comebacks are no consolation either)! Don't think we can be ruthless like our "rivals" are showing to be! Won't give up hope in this setup, but very difficult right now!

I've always liked Hurst and have never called for his head like a lot of others, I like the signings he's made and how he plucks good players that some people haven't heard of etc, but he has had an absolutely shocking start and even I am starting to loose confidence in him.  Lots of chopping and changing, players playing out of position .. When you have a decent pro right back that has played higher than this level in re team, bringing in a centre mid and dropping the best centre mid so far this pre and season, dropping your top scorer and playing a winger up front just because of what he did pre season, dropping that same winger and playing Mackreth... Who any manager worth his salt would surely have said "for fks sakes Jack Attack your man, take him on, if you lose the ball who cares, I just want tonsee what  you can offer attacking"! But clearly never has.. The list is endless.

We'll take 4 points off them.

It won't make any difference though.

For the umpteenth season. First time we've not scored?

2 shots 2 goals from the opposition. For the umpteenth time. Almost surreal.

One !
They don't have captain Tinkerman as their manager though do they ?

How many times have we looked at the team sheet before the match , seen all of his tinkering and just knew we was gonna get stuffed ?
He just can't help himself and I hope he's unemployed by Monday

It didn't look promising against Kidderminster. We had 32mins to score against Lincoln before going down to 10. I don't think we would have done any better with 11
We've had such an easy start but Its looking worse than last season.
8 games in and I'd happily take playoffs. FFS we haven't played any of the top ten yet
This team was top 3 last season. Alan Alger was right....

Sorry but i have no time anymore for PH.  He's had a bad start but personally for me its time to go whilst the season is still young and atleast half the operation promotion money available.  He hasn't learnt anything, is adament about changing the team, his subs are baffling.  I really dont know what he can do to save himself.  He needs a winning run and quick.

The only small positive note is that we are (still) creating more chances in games than opposition, but not cashing in on relatively easy chances.  We're over elaborating at times in trying to walk the ball in.  The strikers need to be more ruthless especially with simple headed chances presented.  They can score spectacular goals, but need to start doing the bread and butter stuff first.

To be quite honest I used to sit on the fence where hurst was concerned, sadly I have to report I've fallen off and landed on the dark side
HURST OUT !

Hurst is not at fault for below-par finishing; the defense needs sorting out as McKeown could not do a fat lot with the goals.

If we kick Hurst, who would replace him? Nobody good enough to bother replacing him! It's early doors, so stop moaning and get behind the team!

that's  an insult to the man currently speaking on humberside, he urine this league now.

Mate, I am facing WHO WOULD REPLACE HIM?!

I look at it this way:

We got to the play offs last term, played very well and lost out due to questionable refereeing.
I want to finish first. Hurst has that ambition, he is tiding all the team together and we will hit a run; get a new GK coach in and a new GK to challenge Macca. Bogle will develop well.

I agree he shouldn't have mucked around with the team, and Robinson is awful but once we find our stride and put our confidence in Hurst then we will see a result.

You could argue that but for mistakes throughout the season he made we could have gone up automatically. Quality of this league last year was not that good, so missed a golden chance.

TAGG, no he wasn't great but i hate scapegoating of new players, just like.....................now let's see.................oh yeah, Clay last season. Now the new lad is getting slated for taking his place. He played 2 or 3 incisive passes into the box that we should have done better with and i think there is a good player in there somewhere. At least John Still thought so but what does he know?

Not scapegoating. Seen him twice and he was crap both times. I can only give my opinion on what I see, I'm not saying it's all his fault that we lost today. He gives us nothing that one of our young lads wouldn't give us.
If Still thought that much of he wouldn't have booted him out the door 👍

Thought Robinson was actually better than clay today who was anonymous.  robinson is a bit weak in challenges and can go missing a bit himself like clay did, but he can certainly pick a pass if he is given time and space, but that is a luxury he wont get all that often.
