Enough is enough, one can't manage, the other can't save a shot.  Tiredness for f**ks sake.  Try working 60 hours a week Mr Hurst and the players and then complain about tiredness !!!  Quite simply, Hurst's excuses are not acceptable anymore.  He changes the team constantly and has no idea what his best team is.  He made his changes today because six games into the season, the players were too tired.  What a sad sad excuse of a man.  He has had long enough at this club now and needs o go.  As for flapper between the sticks, he costs us a goal a game.  Come on Fenty, grow a set, get rid of this Yorkshire gnome and get us a new manager who can manage.  As ever our fans are great, the very best, and we are a very proud club.  We need a manager  and a goalkeeper with the same passion.  You can always rely on the above two to f**k up a bank holiday for you................

When I was young I worked on a building site all week,

Played football on Saturday and Sunday even 2 games in midweek if behind with our fixtures at the tail end of the season,

I never once felt tired or felt I needed a rest,

Apart from having a break from work that is ;D

Agree with everything you say about Hurst he should have gone Xmas 2013
Can't agree about Macca though. Hurst needs to bring in a keeper and pull Macca out for a few games because I'm sure he would then come back to what he has been and that is the best keeper in this league.
It's Hurst fault for letting the GK situation get to this stage.

At the end of the day he is trying to please everyone by rotating the squad instead of letting them fight for their place.  Add to that he should have added a few more players.

I'm in my 50's with arthritis, yet somehow manage to get up and go to work on a building site for 8 hrs a day, sometimes having to take lots of painkillers. I'm fooked off hearing about tired players. We are not a fooking champions league team with a massive squad and i'm sick of hearing about all this squad rotation bollox. Players are supposed to be fitter than ever nowadays and even part time sides manage to keep turning out and giving us a game. Buckley said before the game on RH that you need a settled side so players can build partnerships and understandings. He never chopped and changed and we played nearly 70 games one season with virtually the same side, beating all before us. Winning players don't get tired and Hurst is way to keen to play at being a manager.

Good post. They wouldn't have been tired if we'd been top of the table after Saturday. Too much tinkering again from Hurst but as usually, he doesn't address the issues. He only adds to them.

Agree, in my opinion he is the best keeper in this woeful league, but meningitus is a very serious illness. I wonder if he came back too soon, even if he is now feeling fit, he wasn't right earlier and his confidence is shot. PH will know Jame's character, I would take him out of the firing line by loaning an experienced keeper for a month, giving James a couple of weeks off, grab a flight somewhere cheap n warm and come back ready.

McKeown has plenty of credit in the bank, he's been superb for us though he has flaws in his game, no doubt he could have moved on so we owe him patience. But for his own good, give him a break.

Great post! so mad just thinking about our centre midfield today unbelievable when you think about the likes of Cunningron and Groves, what makes it worse Disley looks to me even at 34 one of the fittest in the squad he run the show last week.

Not having this tiredness nonsense at all. I bet every one of those players dropped today wanted to play. Disley was superb on Saturday and doesn't play?! It's over-complicating bollocks.

I thought Macca looked a bit dodgy before his reported illness. Maybe he was suffering for a while before it got bad enough to be diagnosed? Whatever the issue, he needs a break as he's become complacent. He needs challenging IMO.

He went for that clown Robinson over Disley? Robinson was an utter disgrace for 75 minutes, how on earth did he stay on the pitch that long? Is PH blind? Even Robinson was looking towards the touchline after we made our first subs, he wanted to end his terrible day. Him and the rest of the crowd with eye in their heads. We only had Craig Disley, probably the best midfielder in this league on the bench.

Absolute shambles, Hurst has to be under serious pressure already.

Yeah he wasn't as good last year as he was the 2 beforehand. Could have been the lack of a senior backup or Croudson leaving, but this year is something else. Definitely needs a break.

Agreed. More of a statement of how fed up I am of this year in year out. We have a sqaud that should beat every team in this league with no worries at all. But with Mr Hurst still in charge we are going nowhere fast. Sorry Paul, you may be nice bloke and have brought in some great players but a manager you are not. Please step down before its to late.

No need for another keeper just now, we have an experienced keeper on the books ie Warrington who played well in all the pre season games, let him have the next six games and rest Macca untill he gets his enthusiasm and confidence back, could well say the same about Hurst and let Doig pick and manage, we can`t do no worse

I think it is possible that the GK situation has been a consequence of PH decisions. JM was brought back too early after illness preseason and made a mistake in his first game back when he didn't seem to be ready, that appears to have affected his confidence (and that of others)...goals in most games so far have been (partly) attributable to poor keeping, mostly from crosses; even with some vulnerability in the air the performances have been substandard / out of character and there is now a clear weakness that is also affecting the rest of the defence / team. The Kiddy and Alty results set the tone for what has happened in the more recent games where there has been an air of inevitability that we won't beat inferior teams. I did think that the team looked tired and needed a change at / after Alty, but options were limited at that time with the injuries. Since then, (not all but) a number of changes have been a little strange, and consequently PH has put himself under pressure.

I've lost some respect for PH following the interview tonight, there didn't appear to be any real showing of responsibility. The fans respect the quality and attitude of the players throughout the squad, but the changes should have been targeted on weaknesses rather than wholesale, particularly with the concerning league development. Additionally, we could have given the younger players more experience when we were coasting in the first home games, it doesn't look likely that they will get a run out from here. We haven't had a great deal of luck (fitness & decisions from officials), but most of the time you make your own luck. I really hope we turn things around starting from Saturday, I'm just finding it harder and harder to believe we can. For that to happen, PH needs to realise and declare his mistakes, sort out whatever is currently wrong with JM, and pick his best tactical (not necessarily the same) starting 11 going forward. I'm not fully convinced that PH has the strength to do this but I hope I am wrong. I do believe we have (generally) the right squad though, and don't want things to deteriorate any further. UTM

it cant get worse can it?!?
Very close to gifting them two goals today, the one he did and the dallying on the ball which ricocheted off their striker...he has cost us more points this season so far than he has earned us.
Questions are..
do we have a viable alternative right now?
Should we get one?

Okay, in the cold light of day, I am still furious. McKeown is an issue at the moment, but what about the rest of the team yesterday? Very few of the players come out of it with any credit so let's not scapegoat the keeper.

Again , I'm  feeling better , however had to rely on radio . I don't know if it was worse listening to it or watching it .

It's been an on going problem with McKeown  ,  the friend I used to watch with was, as I have said before , was an ex Derby County keeper in the late 60 ' s  . His comments still ring in my ears , if Wynne could see the faults over a couple of games I'm very sure others could too .
It's not that he's a bad keeper , he's just gone stale . Should we get someone in ? Should we have GOT someone in . Hindsight is a wonderful thing , but too late afterwards.

Morning BP , Are we as fans putting too much pressure on the team ? The chopping and changing of the squad put pressure on those picked , those not pick must be frustrated . We don't know what the team talks are like but listening to PH on the radio I don't think they would be very motivational  .

I really don't think the fans can be blamed at all. Our fans have been absolutely incredible IMO. Let's be honest, there is pressure playing for Grimsby in this league and it must weigh heavily on the players shoulders. But in general, we are very supportive, travel in huge numbers and get behind the players. Anyone who signs for Town knows the expectations. They shouldn't need PH motivating them to give their all, I've no idea what he is like behind closed doors but I suspect one or two of us would be surprised. I don't know what's gone so wrong so early. But I don't think it is too early for panic stations either. I am panicking and you should too!!

The fans have stuck with it but a noticeable change yesterday AFTER the game even from some of our more balanced supporters. The feeling is that of massive disappointment and given the relative easy looking fixtures so far is there any wonder? My biggest fear with PH in charge is the team being motivated from a poor start he seldom seems capable of getting the team to come from behind and win. I hope they have a meeting today and PH should be asked to answer for the poor start if the board don't agree with him or feel he has had enough then lets give someone else a chance it cant be any worse.

Buckley was sacked on the 15th September 2008 the last time. You maybe thinking about his 2nd spell in charge though when he was sacked after only 2 games.
