We are Town. No matter what. Let's face it, we're signed up for life.

Yes, this is a set back, and we're probably not now going up as champions. But there is still the play-offs. Just because we didn't succeed in getting promotion this way in the last few seasons, there is no reason to believe we can do it this year.

And, you know what, if we don't, we'll still be supporting them next season in this god awful league.

Of course you are right Belfast, I guess we all get deflated though, as I certainly expected Cheltenham and FGR to have dropped a few more points than they have in the last few games so even with results like yesterday we would be only single figures behind with games v both to play.
They may have a terrible run still, but seems unlikely and games are running out.

Like last year the title is a 2 horse race we're just not one of the horses

It isn't good enough.

It's okay saying through thick and thin, it's about time we had some of the thick.

Sadly the silly draws against poor teams have done for us again. Now I know Cheltenham drew at Boreham Wood a few weeks ago, but overall we just haven't managed to put away some lower teams.

I still think we'll have a great chance in the playoffs but the team will need to refocus and make sure they hit the end of the season in good form.

Is there anyway we can prepare better for beating the "horse" that doesn't win in the playoffs than over the last few seasons  :-/

A good measure of if we have improved will be when we play village green and cheltenham both our toughest games even if we don't challenge for the title those two games will be interesting. Pity BT have bastardized them forcing Friday night fixtures which as well and truly fecked my plans up especially the village green game watching on the box ain't the same.

Believe? I believe 4000 were taken for granted yesterday. That's what really wrenches the gut about it. Last August we had (or at least I had) fond visions of us in February building on a good start with the new signings and a few more reinforcements at the very least within a point or two of the title spot. What do we get? More of the same let down.

No doubt you are right and the core of us diehards and old faithfuls will still support the Town but it gets harder and harder to raise that belief again every single year. No doubt someone would say we've been "spoilt".

9 wins in 11 league matches before yesterday, then a 0-0 draw. If that is "thin" I don't know what your thick is. Now who is "spoilt"?

Your completely right, of course............ But the danger is that we may lose momentum as we can't win the league and have a bit of a cushion ahead of the team in 6th.  4 points out of 9 would suggest a slump.

We all realise that winning the league is now beyond us,

That gives us a few advantages,

When we play FGR and Cheltenham those two teams will be nervous because they do not want to lose points to us enabling the other one to overtake them at the top,

Then depending how many points we have once we get to the last few games,
We can rest certain players so they will be fresh for the play offs,

So its not all doom and gloom at the moment,

That will only come if we do not win the bloody play offs.

Another player making promises that in all likelihood won't be delivered.

Yep, and we mullered Cheltenham and FGR along the way and now sit proudly at the top of the table..........You're deluded my son.  We beat a few pub teams, we haven't played well since December.

Thank you for that contribution Mrs Hurst.

Shame the season started in August not December.

We have had this same 'advantage" going into the play offs the last three seasons , It never helped us before so why would it help us now ?
