I guess this is possibly Fleetwood Towns demise going forward.  Grimsby Town have never played Fleetwood in the football league, only at National League level >> https://www.11v11.com/teams/grimsby-town/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Fleetwood%20Town/

Fleetwood Town owner Andy Pilley was jailed for 13 years! (ohmy) for a multi-million pound fraud which "duped" firms into expensive energy contracts.

On sentencing, Judge Knowles KC, said a "salesforce of cold-calling liars and manipulators duped very large numbers of honest and decent proprietors" into "long and expensive contracts" for their gas and electricity amounting to tens of millions of pounds.

The judge said Pilley "devised and enforced an elaborate pretence that the sales team were independent of the supply companies".

"The truth was that he owned them and called the shots," he added.

I'd throw Morecambe into the ring aswell, all going to pot off the field there

Horrible place, remember going there on a Tuesday  night, town fans being caged in and locked in the ground at full time and a threatened with arrest for complaining.

The last time we played them in a league fixture was 2012 when one Jamie Vardy put us to the sword.

Hopefully the off-field problems at Fleetwood, Morecambe, Swindon and Accrington mean there will be at least two basket cases next season.

You don’t have too much of a positive attitude then, with only another twelve months for us to turn things around, I guess. 😂

Met some Swindon fans after the game yesterday at the smallest pub on the planet
Good genuine fans they were pleased we stopped up describing us as a proper football club with proper fans
They are going through a lot of changes not for the best I was told
Hope they stop up next year they were formed in 1879 a year after us

They are in a right mess off the pitch without those 2 loan lads they had up until January they would have gone down .

Didn’t we all think Crawley were doomed this season? They even signed our “non league standard” striker. It’s a funny old game.

Yeah he certainly is outspoken against certain things .

He is going to try and run them at break even because he doesn't want to keep putting loads of money in and wants out (he's trying to sell them) , will be interesting to see how that goes .

Running at break even when you only have 3,600 fans it isvgoing to be pretty tough to be competitive.

If you’re talking about Accrington, you can knock a thousand off that for a start, minimum.

Morecambe sound in a right mess , could be a points deduction next season - struggling to pay players - all out of contract in the summer with a dodgy owner who folded that rugby team .

Fleetwood have obvious issues , their fans seem concerned where money will come from next season .

Swindon in a mess , with another questionable owner who isn't /can't put any money in with 'dodgy' people on the board .

3 basket cases with Accrington likely paying peanuts . We should have a head start on 4 at least next time out .

There's got to be a couple of players worth pinching from Morecambe? Farrend Rawson is a decent centre back, a good age and from Nottingham so might fancy a move back this way?

I think lots of us thought he would score quite a few goals this season. It’s a shame our former management team couldn’t see it.

Was that the night Vardy scored?

He went charging half the length of the pitch to stick it to Rob Scott as he had slagged him off prior to the game. If I remember a very cold wet night.

Fleetwood Town are £ 35.9 Million in debt up to June 2023 accounts, it will be interesting to see the accounts for June 2024.

That’s just mad. Can see them going straight through or even not existing at all.

Feels like we might get another Bury type scenario next season.

That's at least two basket case clubs into League Two.  Wouldn't surprise me if we see numerous points deductions and/or sides not completing the season.

That JRP Management Services Ltd where the £31.2 Million was transfered to, the two only directors are Andy Pilleys son and daughter lol >> https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/11294902/officers

Looks like Pilley owns this Irish club as well >> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterford_F.C.

Fleetwood Town CEO and Waterford FC Exec Director, Steve Curwood is now the Chairman of Fleetwood since Pilley ended up in jail. Around 2020, Curwood also on the EFL board! said "Grimsby Town will be one of six clubs that will go out of business" >> https://fanbanter.co.uk/fleetwood-ceo-names-which-six-efl-clubs-will-go-bust-without-financial-help/

And from reading abit more, the reason that Andy Pilley got such a lengthy prison sentence is because he pleaded not guilty.
