Forest Green v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 18/03/2014

GRIMSBY have returned to somewhere near full strength after a mini-injury crisis which at one point left Paul Hurst with a squad of 16 that more or less picked itself. But the return of defenders Clayton McDonald, Chris Doig and Jamal Fyfield has left Hurst with a wealth of options in the back four.

Striker Oumare Tounkara has also recovered from his injury, giving Hurst more striking options.

Hurst also has the rare luxury of being able to pick a settled side should he wish too, and a winning one too, thanks to Grimsby's 3-1 win over Wrexham at the weekend not producing any new injuries.

Rovers's central defender Aarran Racine is suspended for the match, which has already kicked off once this season, but was abandoned thanks to a floodlight failure when the score was 1-1.

Forest Green are only just in the top half but they are only three points off the play-offs and with one of the biggest payrolls in the division they are still a genuine candidate for promotion.
