Cheltenham v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 01/04/2016

GRIMSBY head to Cheltenham tonight knowing that their slim chances of automatic promotion rest upon getting three points in the match against the division's leaders and favourites for the top spot at the end of the month.

Town beat Forest Green away in front of the BT Sport cameras and will be hoping for a repeat showing in tonight's televised clash. They could be helped as Cheltenham have wobbled recently after their excellent form during the middle part of the seasons and the Robins have won just 2 from the last 6, compared with Town's 4. All three of the top sides dropped points on Easter Monday with Cheltenham and Grimsby both losing, while Forest Green conceded a late goal and had to settle for a draw.

The Mariners have three first teamers ruled out. Jon-Paul Pittman and Marcus Marshall are still injured, and they are joined by Ryan Jennings who sustained a toe injury in training. Winger Andy Monkhouse has returned to training though after missing the last five games, but may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Other changes are always possible as Paul Hurst shuffles his pack in a busy period for matches.

Cheltenham are without defender Aaron Downes and winger Jack Munns.
