Bogle Does it Again

GRIMSBY picked up their first away win of the season, thanks to two goals from leading scorer Omar Bogle, at leaders Luton. The Mariners took a first half lead thanks to Bogle's opportunistic strike on the half hour mark.
The Hatters clawed their way back into the game in the second half with the help of a deflection, but this week it was Grimsby's turn to come up with a late winner, after Bogle headed Town ahead in front of a delirious away following.
Paul Hurst stuck with the same side that almost won at Notts County, hoping the Mariners could go one better at the early league leaders.
Town were the better side in the first half and Bogle had early chances to add to his five goal tally, but he missed the target from an early chance and had another effort deflected wide. Grimsby took the lead during a passage of play following a corner. Luton failed to clear their lines and the ball eventually found its way to Bogle for a close-range finish.
James McKeown had to be alert at the start of the second half, making a point blank save from dangerman Jack Marriott after a Town attack had broken up following Bogle's misplaced pass.
Luton kept the pressure up, forcing another couple of saves out of James McKeown, but the Hatters eventually needed a deflected goal to breach Town's defences. Rae powered a hopeful shot through a crowded penalty area, and it clipped off a Town player to give McKeown no chance.
Jackson came on for the tiring Tuton, who had done an enormous amount of running for Town, and the on-loan striker crossed for Bogle to head the ball past Walton in front of the visiting support.
Town this week stood firm and held on for a valuable three points that lifts them into the top half.
It was an impressive performance and the squad is starting to gel into more of a unit, a promising sign of things to come from Paul Hurst's new-look side.
