The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

The Fishyio: 23-Aug

ONLY one point so far and the big man Livvo out for the foreseeable future, it is not the best time to be a Town fan. I am sure the gaffer will be trying to change that over the forthcoming Bank Holiday weekend.

With two games coming in a short period of time it is of prime importance that players don't get injured. Here's this week's update:

  • Croudson: Stevie is still out and won't be back till October at the earliest. Youngster Hughes will have to be called upon if the unthinkable happens and Coyne gets injured.

  • McDermott: Grimsby's longest serving player has pulled his groin but don't expect that to keep him out of playing his 501st league game against Bradford. Anyone else remember that cracking goal he scored against Bradford in the F.A cup a couple years back? Gotta be the best ever goal scored by a right back.

  • Alan Pouton: How we missed this man against Derby. He's still has severe bruising on the toe and will have to have a test before being allowed to play.

  • Stacey Coldicott: Has been suffering a hamstring injury but is also expected to be back for the trip to Valley Parade.

  • Steve Livingstone: We all know what is up with him. Get well soon Livvo.

My prediction for the upcoming games. We'll beat Bradford 2-0 and then Portsmouth 2-1. We'll be in the top half come Monday evening!
