DEFENDER Kirk Wheeler has gone on a month's loan to North Conference outfit Barrow, at a time when most of the Town defence are out injured. The 20-year-old, who has never made a first time appearance, goes into the squad for Barrow's game tonight against Ashton United.

Wheeler follows striker Darren Mansaram, who left Blundell Park earlier this month to go on a month's loan to Halifax, where he scored in his second game against Forest Green.

  • 23-year-old defender Terrell Forbes today put pen to paper on a short-term contract with the Mariners. Terrell Forbes Profile.

  • The reserves beat Huddersfield 2-1 in today's game at Blundell Park. Nick Heggarty and Clint Marcelle were on target for Town.

    Town: Fraser, Hyam, Bull, Lamb, Mumford, Howard, Hildred, Marcelle, Farrell, Hockless, Heggarty.
    Subs: Ward, Smith, Ashton, Rock, Higgins.
