Bosh to Miss Opener

MIDFIELDER Danny Boshell looks set to miss the first game of the new season against Rochdale after sustaining ankle ligament damage in Wednesday night's friendly at Corby. The prognosis of Town physio Dave Moore is that Bosh will not be fit in time for the season's opener at Blundell Park on August 9.

Boshell limped off after 22 minutes in the game at Corby, since when he has had an X-ray which has revealed there is no break - just ligament damage..

Boshell told the Grimsby Telegraph: "I had an X-ray and that came back clear, which we expected it would, but it looks like I have done my ligaments on the inside of my ankle. It wasn't a tackle or anything like that. I just went over on it.

"It's not really too bad but it looks like I'm going to be out for a few weeks. I'm gutted because I had just started to get my fitness back and was getting a feel for a ball again and now it's back to square one. I was really eager to get playing again so it's a big disappointment."
