Another Day, Another Draw

GRIMSBY'S season is rapidly had becoming a succession of draws. The Mariners won 7 out of the first 8 league games of 2012. They have only lost 1 out of the last 9 matches, a similar record, however they have won just 2 of them - the remaining 6 matches have all been draws.

The latest draw, a match than had no bearing on either side's prospects of participating in a different division next season, was against AFC Telford on Saturday. Town had 'keeper James McKeown to thank for keeping them in the game to deny efforts by Sharp and Trainer.

The other 'keeper had to make 3 good saves to deny Town, but overall a draw was probably a fair result.

Grimsby have one game left at home to Southport. At one stage it looked like the game come be a decider for the final play-off berth but both sides are now unable to make the top 5.
