Wrexham v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 24/08/2012

TOWN will have to do without striker Liam Hearn for the trip to Wrexham on Saturday and it's unlikely they will sign a replacement in time for the televised clash with Wrexham.

As Hearn has barely featured this season, the biggest immediate concern is to improve upon the dire performance which saw a goalless draw on Saturday with Nuneaton - a match Grimsby were expecting to win. Town barely created a chance in the game with Borough, but the whole team was at fault, it would be unfair to single out the attackers.

Grimsby may therefore make several "tactical" chances to try and address the poor performance not just against Nuneaton but in the previous game with Stockport where Town fell short of the mark.

Wrexham, like Town, have got off to a start which belies their status as one of the pre-favourites. The Reds gave 4 points from 3 games and sit in the middle of the embryonic table, but have a 100% home record. They are forced into at least one change as centre-back Mark Creighton is out with a knee ligament injury.

The match kicks off a "tea time" (17:15) and is being shown live on Premier Sport.
