Elding Departs

ANTHONY Elding looks like he has played his final game for Grimsby as he has gone on loan to League One side Preston until January. Elding was keen to link up with Preston manager Graham Westley, and put in a transfer request a few weeks ago to try and get the deal to go through.

It looks like it now has and the 30-year-old will be looking for a permanent deal to Deepdale once the transfer window opens in January

Journeyman Elding has been with Town for one and a half seasons (his fifteenth club), and will be best remembered for his prolific partnership with Liam Hearn last season. Had Hearn and Elding been able to play together this season Town could arguably have been clear at the top of the league by now.

The Fishy wishes Anthony the best of luck in the future if he does not return to Blundell Park.
