Grimsby v Lincoln Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 31/12/2013

GRIMSBY have three injury doubts for the return clash with Lincoln at Blundell Park on New Year's Day. Scott Kerr (knee) and Sam Hatton (illness) are both doubtful, and Clayton MacDonald has suffered a training ground fall, having just recovered from an illness which caused him to miss the last two games.

However full back Paul Bignot is available again after a one match suspension against Macclesfield. Lenell John-Lewis and Scott Neilson were both left out against Macclesfield, and Paul Hurst may turn to them again to try and emulate the three points Town took off Lincoln on Boxing Day.

Lincoln will also have to shuffle their pack. Midfielder and captain Alan Power was sent off against FC Halifax Town on Saturday, and Jake Sheridan received a three match ban for the red card received on Boxing Day for the tackle of Craig Disley,

The Mariners have gone 11 matches without defeat against Lincoln, but are well aware that all runs come to an end, having just lost to Macclesfield in the previous game after having gone 14 matches unbeaten.

Following the game with Lincoln Grimsby have no league match until at least 14th January, when they are scheduled to play Forest Green (unless Town draw with Maidenhead in the FA Trophy).
