Grimsby v Kidderminster Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 21/11/2014

NEW ZEALAND striker Hamish Watson has signed for Town on a short term deal and has received international clearance to play for the Mariners. The Kiwi, who has represented New Zealand at U-20 level, is unlikely to start but may make the bench against Kidderminster.

Watson's addition makes it about twenty or so players competing for the starting XI plus the five places on the bench. There are no new injuries reported this week, and Grimsby did reasonably well last weekend at Altrincham, albeit with the disappointment of conceding a late equaliser, so it's safe to assume there won't be mass changes. Town will probably persevere with 4-5-1 as they've picked a lot of points with that formation of late.

Kidderminster Harriers have been forced to sell two of their better players this week. Defender Chey Dunkley and striker Nathan Blissett have join Oxford and Bristol Rovers respectively, initially on loan. Harriers are suffering financial problems and are having to cut their playing budget to survive. However Oxford defender Sam Long has joined Harriers on loan which should go someway to easing the blow of losing Dunkley. Harriers remain very much promotion contenders just four points off the play-offs.

Town won at Kidderminster back in September when loan signing Rhys Oates came off the bench and scored a late winner on his debut.
