Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby be next season?

Braintree v Grimsby Team News

JON-PAUL Pittman is a serious doubt for Grimsby at Braintree this afternoon. It means one of Bogle or Amond will probably return to the starting line-up, or Andy Monkhouse possibly be pushed further up the pitch form his customary left wing spot.

Hurst has left his two leading scorers Bogle and Amond on the bench in recent games, partly though fitness, partly though rotation and partly to make Grimsby harder to beat.

Midfielder Scott Brown (ankle) is back in full training but is still not ready to start games after missing all of the season and a big chunk of pre-season.

Braintree have several players rated doubtful with injuries. Sam Habergham and Chez Isaac both limped off in the midweek draw with Cheltenham with dead leg and hamstring problems respectively, and big doubts over the fitness of Matt Fry, Dan Sparkes (groin) and Mark Phillips (illness) are also testing Braintree's small squad.

With the match falling on non-league day a big turnout is expected. This will be Grimsby's fifth visit to the Essex club. Town's win last year saw their first ever goal at Braintree, after two losses and a 0-0 draw in the three previous visits.
