Heartbreak for Town

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 16/12/2015

GRIMSBY succumbed to an injury time goal at Shrewsbury which denied the Mariners s trip to Cardiff in Round 3 of the FA Cup. The Mariners had been the better side over 180 goalless minutes with the Shrews, but Abu Ogogo struck deep in injury time to break Town's hearts.

Town had the same starting XI as played in the first Shrewsbury game.

After a quiet start, Pittman was forced off injured midway through the first half and had to be replaced by Bogle.

Clay first the first real opportunity from either side, blasting over from an unmarked position in the box.

The Mariners continued to be the better side after the break and the match was heading into extra time when Ogogo blasted the ball into the top corner.
