David Soames

Bright, Quick, Eye for goal (in the reserves) and muscled, so muscled he looks like he is wearing arm bands. Digger has managed 26 games for Town, all from the bench and 1 start against Burnley in his first season.

Soames was added to the squad in November 2002 and made a scoring debut in a 3-1 win away at Derby County on Boxing Day 2002.

Loves to run and charge at defenders but cannot seem to find scoring ways in the first team, making his Derby goal, his only goal for Grimsby Town. A decent youngster who has struggled with injury ever since progressing to the first team.

It was announced in June 2005 that Digger's contract would not be renewed; however, he was invited back for pre-season training in order to try and impress Russell Slade.
