The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Who will go down?

Smith Reserve Outing

Town reserves lost 2-0 at Blackpool this afternoon, with Richard Smith managing to play his first 30 minutes in a competitive game for almost a year following a operation to have vertebrae fused in his back. Dutch trialist Uriël Trustfull, however, did manage to play in the game.

Trustfull's fellow trialist, Scottish midfielder Neil Murray, did not get clearance in time from the German FA to be able to play in the game. The next scheduled reserve game is in two weeks time against Lincoln City at Blundell park, so Murray must wait until then for his next chance of a trial with the Mariners, unless the postponed reserve game against Scunthorpe (which was rained off) takes place next week. The German FA dragging their heals with the necessary papers have so far caused Murray to miss two opportunities at getting a trial with Grimsby. The Scot suffered the same problem in last week's reserve game against Stoke. Following the game the club announced that they will not be offering a contract to the Dutch midfielder Trustfull.
