Gary Croft1992/93-1995/96154 (12)4 goals

Gary Croft Left back. Right back. Centre back. Right midfield. Left midfield. Centre midfield. Up front. That's where Gary Croft played! That's every position except goalkeeper! Surely it must be some kind of record? And the thing was, he never looked out of place in any of these positions, although he did prefer playing left back (despite being right footed).

Unfortunately he played in most of these positions because a certain Mr Laws did not have a clue where to place him on the pitch. But this did not matter to Crofty, who got on with the job. His versatility and tremendous talent was rewarded with a £1.3 million move to Blackburn in 1996.

Croft now plays at Ipswich, where he got his unwanted record of being the first footballer to be electronically tagged on the pitch, after being imprisoned for several driving offences! Not a record I'm sure he's proud of. You can read how Croft recently revealed how he would like to play for Town again here.

Next Player: Johnny Walker
