The Opposition

Manager
Andy King. . Ex-Mansfield manager who took over the Robins in November 2000. He was replaced within a year by Roy Evans, until he was re-instated in 2001. Starting to win over the fans and looks likely to guide Town to a play off spot come the end of the year. Former assistant for a brief time to ex Mariners manager Kenny Swain.

The Team
In attack, the Robins have perhaps two of the best strikers in the division in the experience of Tommy Mooney (left) and the goals of Sam Parkin, whom between them have scored 36 goals so far this season. In goal will be the young Rhys Evans whilst the midfield will feature the creativity of Sammy Igoe.

Team News

TownSwindon

  • Town could be forced into one change from the side that drew 1-1 with Bournemouth last weekend, with fitness doubts hanging over the head of midfielder Stacy Coldicott. If he does not make the starting lineup then Des Hamilton could be recalled. Alternatively, Graham Hockless or Iain Anderson could be recalled down the flanks, with Craig Armstrong moving from left back to midfield, and Barnard reverting to left back.

  • Indeed, Iain Anderson will probably return at least onto the bench after missing the last few weeks through injury

  • Jason Crowe and John McDermott could return in the next week or two but will play no part. The fitness of Isiah Rankin, whose loan ends on Saturday, is unknown as yet.
  • Andy King is unlikely to risk the fitness of Brazilian midfielder Stefani Miglioranzi after missing out at the weekend with an ankle injury.

  • There were worries over the fitness of Alan Reeves and Sammy Igoe, but both should be fit to start the game.

  • Midfielder Steve Robinson is still a few weeks away from fitness, continuing his rehabilitation for a broken fibula.

It was after the ever memorable and embarrassing 8-1 thumping from Hartepool that Town met Swindon at Blundell Park. Indeed, Town play Hartlepool on Saturday, looking to avenge that defeat. Michael Boulding gave Town the lead in the 23rd minute, but never really in the game, Town let the lead slip with Andy Gurney and Tommy Mooney netting for the Robins to inflict a second defeat in 5 days for Town.
