We regularly need new Cod Heads, so would appreciate contributions from lifelong supporters of the Mariners. This week's Cod Head is Scott Charles.

Fishy:
Tell us a bit about yourself.

Scott:
I am 33 - been a Town fan for as long as I can remember, and I will be moving up to live in Durham in the next few weeks to live with my girlfriend.

Fishy:
When did you first start supporting the Mariners, and what was your first game?

Scott:
1982 was the first game I attended with my two cousins as they were a bit older than me. I believe we played Sheffield Utd in the League Cup; the score was 3-3 and Drinkell got a hat trick.

Fishy:
Who is the best player you ever saw wearing a Grimsby Town shirt?

Scott:
This is a tough one, got to be Andy Todd I am afraid he was just quality, and he helped us to survive that season, but I will choose Paul Futcher as he was a proper Town player and not a loan signing, and that was our gain and Halifax's loss.

Fishy:
If there is one game you were allowed to go back in time and watch what would it be and why?

Scott:
It would have to be the Auto Windscreen Final at Wembley, I never got to go as I was in the army at the time based in Cyprus. Still a very sore subject to me and I was moody all day thinking of how great it would have been, and just for the record I never got to the play-off final either. Yep you guessed it Cyprus again!!!!!!!! Gutted.

Fishy:
What are your favourite and least favourite away grounds?

Scott:
The worst ground has to be Elm Park at Reading, looked like a scrap yard from the outside and not much better inside. The best is Sunderland's Stadium of light, shame about the football though.

Fishy:
What, in your opinion, are GTFC's best and worst seasons since you have been supporting them?

Scott:
The best season is easily the double Wembley visits and the promotion, the worst is quite easily 2003/2004 season, I have never seen such rubbish and have forgotten about it. Until now anyway.

Fishy:
What is the most eventful day you have ever had in the course of following the Mariners?

Scott:
It was very recently, the Darlington game that was P-P. I was in Grimsby and had loads to do with Christmas shopping and all, needed to go the post office and collect some parcels had to pick the girlfriend up in Durham and was just basically rushing around. We got in the car from Durham when I eventually got there put tees fm radio station on at 13:15 and listened to the local football and they were covering Darlo v Town right up until I got there at 14:00 only for a steward to tell me it was P-P at 12:15 and I was not best pleased, got back in the car and tees fm said the match was P-P. I just wished they told me at 13:15 when we set off from Durham.

Fishy:
What is the worst game you've ever been to?

Scott:
The worst game is Away at Tranmere in the 2003/04 relegation season, enough said.

Fishy:
Who is the greatest ever GTFC manager?

Scott:
Town's greatest manager can only and always will be Alan Buckley, he did some great things here when the club was at a very low point and he brought some pride back into the club and the town alike.

Fishy:
How many games a season do you get to now, and what do you do while Town are playing games that you can't get to?

Scott:
I get to all the homes games and a handful of away games normally, and if I am not at the match I am always keeping a close eye on the score with a radio, phone, TV - anything as long as I know what is happening.

Fishy:
Name your all-time starting eleven since you have been watching Town?

Scott:
Batch, McDermott, Futcher, Todd, Croft, Oster, Cumming, Pouton, Gilbert, Mendonca, Drinkell. Philp:

Scott Charles
