Why is it not looking good for him? Hopefully he is more professional than Elding and will fight for his place.

Unfortunately that's what happens when your unavailable from team selection it's not the managers fault he went off to be at the birth etc and I mean that in a nice way.  He just needs to work hard and be patient.

It's daft but when you are managing people especially football players you have to be fair to everyone surely, however I guess Miller is a lot fitter than Fordy so I see your point there but Fordy is next in line.

Why's that? Miller has been playing conference football for the last two seasons, whereas Ford has been playing Lge 2 and SPL football the last two seasons.

A defeat will mean more changes to the team

Deafeat would mean we've failed to beat another bottom of the table team.
it would also mean we are very unlikely to go up as champions, one of the two ways of going up already gone

Considering the managers talked so highly about Soares being a key player, it is massively frustrating that they're are not even starting with a wide player they have talked about the most. Especially considering Artus isn't even a winger.

Think most of the fancied sides have inched their way to the top of the league now. Looks like we will drop a place or two.

Hope we don't get stranded like last year. Must beat FGR now IMO. If they beat us they will have double our points tally already, which would be worrying.

Fair point, trouble is all the starting forward players are sluggish, they seem better coming off the bench. Cue another no-show from Elding on Saturday before being hauled off for Cook.

I don't think The Dynamic Duo instruct the team to hoof it. It just seems to creep in and gets in the mindset of the players. Even after the two wins on the bounce I still think there are some confidence issues with the team.

Well to be honest, I doubt it makes much difference anyway whether a team is full-time or part-time, but with 1,000 gates the staff/players can't be on much, surely they have second jobs?

What annoys me is when some teams who have players who do a full days work on top of training and they still play better than teams with so called professional players, who put their feet up most of the day lol.

Maybe its a confidence thing. If they get results by playing FOOTball then they may keep playing that way rather than hoof it all the time.
If the managers believe they can play that way, then the players need to have faith in what they say, and follow their instructions to the letter.  UTMM

These match threads always make me laugh when I don't go to the away games.

Town go behind and most people start slagging them off, saying how shite we are, etc, etc but when we score and start getting back into the game the same posters and all sweetness and light and praising the players who they were slagging off only a few posts ago.

I'm sure some people don't realise that games last for 90 minutes.

;D I'm sure Birmingham City fans would be the same playing against us when 1-0 down at ours or there place.  ;)

Similar thing really, teams that get around at least 3 times the gates, except 5,000 to 18,000 instead of 1,000 to 3,000+

It's true what Trevor Francis said on TV once, "we (Birmingham City) should be beating the likes of Grimsby."  We (Grimsby) should be beating teams the likes of Barrow, no disrespect to Barrow.

no which is what makes supporting us all the better,   we can only give 42 week contracts as we cant afford to pay players in the summer, hence why we lose players like cook and mackreth every summer, and only get our squad assembled last minute out of unwanted players.

bottom of the food chain, but at least its a common sense approach without piling up debt like most in this league.

Absolutely. Don't think anyone is criticising Barrow but just bemoaning the fact that we have a HUGE budget every season and still struggle to beat the teams who don't.

Barrow had 3 loan players tonight. Two from Barnsley and a CB from
Colchester. Jackson the no 12 scored their second and I seem to recall he scored against us last season last minute. Apparently he's a local lad but can't get in the Burnley first team.

A fair result Barrow got their tactics right tonight and only the introduction of our subs changed the game in our favour. A bit of intelligence in CM and creativity, Soares attacking LW which balanced with Colbeck RW and Elding not trying to play through a mass of defenders but moving the ball across a stretched defence.
