No Pearson, Disley or Cook for Town.

Will keep the OP updated with stream links that work. Post them as and when they're working for you.

Very much looking forward to seeing Hearn play from the start.

Yes, notice the Premier Sports logo in the bottom right hand corner. If PSG v Barcelona only gets 15 minutes of build up on ITV then it would be amiss to expect any more for Luton v Grimsby on Premier Sports.

a sensible team for what our needs are, but i cannot believe that this team will gel together on the pitch as they have never been near a starting eleven together.  town to huff and puff for 90 minutes but sadly a 2-0 defeat for me as luton at home will be a lot different to the luton we saw at blundell park earlier in the season.  not bothered about result but would like to see some nice link up play. and fluidity in moving the ball around.  will be glued to the stream.

Not too happy with  Hearn starting a game against a powerful pair of centre halves, risky, but i would have liked to have seen Fleming in goal.

FFS what do you expect? That was always going to happen irrespective of who he played against - first start of the season after serious injury it is unfortunately to be expected. 'Hit him hard early on' would be any manager's instruction

To be fair it could be a good game for Hearn to come back into. A tough physical game where he will no doubt take several hits around the injured site. One of the biggest rehab points is the physiological one of being too scared to commit to tackles etc... This should prove he has fit and strong enough to compete again.

Good half. Happy with that.

As expected, commentators wax lyrical about the 'big boys', Luton Town but thought we edged it.
For all their pressure - Macca hasn't had to use his hands yet.

Wood and Ford looking very solid at the back.

Lenny holding the ball up well up top and Hearn looking more threatening as the minutes pass.

We'll win this.
Posted by: GyMariner, April 12, 2013, 8:37pm; Reply: 68
Great game, great strikes from Both LJL and thanoj followed by good saves. Passing the ball very well at times, Southwell doing a good job but needs to be supported. The back is pretty solid after a shakey start. Overall a good half, very entertaining. Looks like we're picking our form up.
Considering we have a few fringe players, and isn't our strongest team, you have to give them it.
Posted by: AndyGTFC, April 12, 2013, 8:38pm; Reply: 69
Doing alright so far.

Withstood some pressure in the first ten or fifteen minutes but have been solid since then and have defended well. Not much quality going forward until we tested the keeper from long range at the end of the half but we've definitely grown into it.
Posted by: Codzilla, April 12, 2013, 8:38pm; Reply: 70
Started shaky but grew into it. Definitely think they edged the first half though but probably to be expected with the team we put out.

Wood is solid and has to be our best player first half.

I was expecting Ford to be proper dog excrement but he hasn't really put a foot wrong, has he?

LJL does what he does. Shame he'll probably never add goals to his game.

Yeah, if we're utilising the Elding method of attributing goals. Southwell's feeble effort was clearly kicked away from the goal-line by a Luton defender and then rebounded in off Rowe-Turner. Dayle should have been stronger and scored himself.

Very true. Football has changed so much these days.

Apparently Brodie was winding Hearn up about his injury too, which obviously didn't help the cause when he was here. It's hard enough for a player coming back, without a "team mate" taking the urine

He's shite. I hate to be harsh on a young lad but he's just plain shite. One of the worst players I've seen play for us and that's saying something. Although he is only young and can improve. Doubt he'll make it in league football though.

I'm not sure if anyone remembers the injury time equaliser KHM scored in this fixture last season (burst through the defence onto a ball over the top and dinked it over the keeper's outstretched leg into the corner), but that's the kind of goal Southwell would never score in a million years.

Ah well, I suppose you can't complain about a draw when you take into account the team we started with. On the plus side Thanoj was impressive, Hearn got through 90 minutes and Ford looked solid enough after barely kicking all ball all season. Some of Artus's deliveries from set-pieces, especially the one we scored from, were fantastic. Very disappointed that we faded badly for the last twenty minutes after bringing Niven and Hatton on. I don't think chopping and changing the defence all the time helps matters, but I suppose we've been forced into making changes through injury. Hopefully taking Thomas off was only precautionary and he hasn't picked up an injury since before that he was looking like the same player we saw in the first half of the season. Southwell was disappointing and really doesn't have a future in the team for me.

FT 1-1

Positives;
Sounds like some real competition is brewing in midfield with Thanoj, Artus adding to Disley and Niven. That will help to compensate for the absence of Colbeck and Devitt
90 Minutes for Hearn despite the McNulty foul
Ford played well after coming in from the cold
LJL made a nuisance of himself

Negatives:
Another goal conceded, one clean sheet in the last nine games

Luckily Luton were wasteful in their periods of dominance although we had a couple of chances that we should have done better with too. Good result, still on a good unbeaten run. Why don't Premier Sports just change their name to Luton Sports? Is a manager still a new manager after 12 games in charge?

Draw away at Luton with half a reserve squad out can't complain about that, decent performance till the subs. What I can complian about is flipping HATTON!!!!!! what a waste of space might as well of played with 10 men when he came on gets beaten time and time and time and time and time and time again. Gray and Lawless for them were fantastic how one of them didn't get man of the match i dont know, Wood our man of the match easily cleaned up defensively and got foreward a few times when he was on the right

Substitutions killed us i thought. Once we swapped the full backs around and put Artus on the left, we were getting killed down the wings, especially Wood's side as Artus wasn't helping him at all. Most of their chances came down that side, including the goal.

Point was just about deserved but Luton definitely created more than us and deserved a goal at least.

Thought we played pretty well overall. A draw was probably a fair result and considering our team, you've got to be satisfied with that.

Luton started and ended the game well but we definitely held our own in between that. Played very well for most of the second half and Thanoj in particular was running the show.

Fantastic for Hearn to get a full 90 minutes also.

Spot on post although I think we deserved a point and the first 20 minutes of the second half could have seen us 2-0 up.  Good performance overall and a lot more positives than negatives (which tonight we shall not mention).  When the fixtures came out I am sure we would have all settled for a point!

The unbeaten run continues, onwards and upwards!

A bit contradictory. "A good point" and "no-one bothered about"

We hardly looked desperate and crap. I think it was Grimsby that look more desperate, so much so your keeper was a bit desperate to not give the ball back!

I wouldn't usually get involved with childish WUM's but I'm surprised, if you have actually seen us play 5 times this season, that you would call us 'sh1te every time'. You are obviously claiming some sort of objective football analysis ability, and yet this disparaging assessment seems well wide of the mark. We might not be good enough for promotion - I've got my own doubts - and we might appear to be fairly average at times (I agree), but we played some very good stuff in the league game at BP and absolutely murdered Luton. It was a similar story in the FA Trophy. Luton haven't been able to live with us (until last night) this season, and you have to say, with 7 changes to the first-choice line-up, we were giving you a chance (which you were unable to take)! I think we looked faily decent in the game last night too, despite being under strength. I thought it was an even game on balance and a draw was about right.

Big of you to acknowledge that Luton have been cr@p all season (your'e quite correct), but if you're going to come on here making superior football knowledge claims, let's have it right. We're a top 5 team on merit. We were top for a long time while you were floundering about with the lower-table minnows at your place. Whether we get murdered by Kiddy or Mansfield or not, we must have something - something you don't have and clearly are just a little bit jealous of. Don't be a poor sport; have a bit of good grace. Maybe see you next season (for the obligatory 4/6 points), and maybe not.

Oh, PS: We also took more fans to Kenny Road last night (for a meaningless game) than you brought to BP on your two visits put together. So much for being massive! More like tin-pot 'also-rans'. (icon_redface)

Pretty pleased overall with what I saw last night. 2nd game running in which we've played a completely different pair of centre backs, always difficult but did well overall. Took a bit of settling at the start, the hurried lumps away seemed to convince Luton that we've got where we are playing like that, but the first 20 minutes of the second half showed our passing game, which was impressive. Short lived though, as the subs killed the flow again. Southall was poor 2nd half, would surely have been subbed in a proper game? In all, was a bit like a strong reserves game, but on telly.

I'm at a loss as to what Luton do with all the forwards they buy, Shaw was shocking, Gray only comes into it when he goes wider and deeper, but not a great forward in my book. Took a player trying another position to score. I guess if Still can convince his players that they are playing for their contract in every game he might get more commitment, possibly even 6th spot :)

does that make sense to you with animals like McNuty around it makes sense to me.

Yeah you bossed the game in parts but the first twenty mins of the second half we turned on the style just to show you what a real team can play like.

Luton always the brides maids, not even that this season even Marcus Marshall decided he would rather play for us lol we didn't embarrass you by letting him loose to be fair.

Now go sling your hook and go fishing elsewhere losers don't have the bragging rights. We may see you again,we may not but at least we have the chance going up and YET ANOTHER nice day out in London, (BTW any chance of a free parking spot?) lol.

My point in my first post on this thread was about credit where credit is due, and yet another who thinks you deserved a point, was i watching another game? We bossed the game from start to finish yet not one on here will admit that, so its 7 changes now is it? Its gone from 5 to 6 now 7, mmmm think not 7, we've had 5, 6 or 7 changes every week for the last 2 months, its no excuse for you getting outplayed by a mid table side, and you were soundly outplayed, we played some good games in the FA cup beating prem teams, but that does'nt make us a good team.

Let me point this out to you, this is probably the best chance teams like Grimsby and Luton had of winning the league this season, and we blew it, why? Because we are average, there was no Fleetwood or Stevenage to run away with it, i dont make excuses for this the players and MANAGER were not up to it, but you lot just whine about the opp players, the commentators, next doors dog, or you never had a full team out.

I'm not jealous, just saying how i see it, been there done that, i dont really want to go through the playoff drama again, i just dont think you will get out of here this season or any season soon.

As for being childish, whats this 'we took more fans than you'  nah na na nah, i'd expect an 8 year old to say things like that, and i never said we were a massive club, but you must think we are or you would'nt mention it, do you lot have a bit of a complex about Luton, most small clubs in the conferance do, so i guess you would as well, anyway i wont bother you anymore, SEE YOU NEXT SEASON  8).

Lol honestly comes on our board and expects us all to do a hitler salute.  You didn't boss the game from start to finish, you had good spells in between our good spells and to say we didn't deserve anything from the game, well you wasn't watching the game on Friday that's for sure, more like an old DVD haha of past meetings.

It's nice to admit that your a mid table team, just look at the clubs who are above you dear oh dear.

Whether we lose in the placeoffs I don't really care because we've had a good season.

Do you seriously expect us to believe that? Who are you trying to convince? Yourself?!!

do you lot have a bit of a complex about Luton, most small clubs in the conferance do,

Who's posting on who's forum? I think that shows clearly who's got the complex!

You came on here to get clever, but instead you got owned. Thanks for making up the numbers this year though.

What a daft thing to say.

Dear Perth hatter

1) Agree -- Luton DID play well last night -- really enjoyable watching how they attacked, very mobile and strong.  Excellent crosses in first half particularly.

2) But -- Town played pretty well too -- esp 2nd half

3) Now -- Bog Off, you arrogant get.  Ta

Why is it? Maybe I should have worded it different, of course I care and would be a bit disappointed but it would have been a good season that's what I was trying to say lol
