I'm flipping sick of this nonsense about Hearn. If he's fit he needs to play, if he's not, we need to know. Anything else smacks of typical marginalisation from the manager(s).

How about this?......we had probably the best attacking 45 mins of football of the season on Saturday...at half time Hearn distanced himself from the other bench warmers and "warmed up" by himself watching the kids mini match. Why did he do that? Does that show team spirit, willingness to fit in? Or did it look like a player having a sulk? Because it did to me.

He probably feels he should be playing moosey, don't forget from hearns point of view he's been out for a while so not playing must be effecting him obviously.  Who would be a manager lol

Is he? Says who? He has not played for a season.
To build a good team spirit and work ethic you have to earn your place, LJL was top scorer in pre season, has taken to the preferred system probably better than any other player and Hearn has not exactly shone in his outings so far.
Would love him to be the player he was but i dont think he is. As much as we all like to think we know better than evryone else we dont see them on a daily basis, dont know Hearns condition and most of all dont know why he isnt in the squad. Maybe he pulled up in training this morning, late fitness test failure etc.

And the same applies to Cook and Hannah. it's idiocy to have such players at your disposal and not use them out of pig-headedness.

Hearn has scored twice the goals LJL has scored this season in a quarter of the game time. Do we want to get promoted, or do we want to massage the ego of our manager(s)?

Neither you or i are the managers which is the point. They (he currently) are so he will have his reasons and no doubt Matt Dean will be frothing at the mouth to ask after the game so we can have some answer.

True, but I refer you to my earlier post about coming clean about what i going on. LJL is a grafter no doubt, but there is form about having favourites with this management team and I'm sick of it.

And what are we gonna do now we are chasing the game? The formation or personnel is not right at the moment and everyone can see this but the Manager(s)

The problem with playing on up top makes it easy for them defenders to mark 1 striker besides its a counter attack formation.   They know that a 433 offers little width.

Cant see us winning this.

Agree that i dont think the personnel are right, the system with the right personnel can work but it is early days yet. Neilson would always be a pivotal player in this system but unfortunately it was his fatter twin brother who arrived for the first day of training.
Do think it should be an outright attacking 3 leaving 7 behind the ball to do the defending.

Paul Bolland points out how Halifax simply put some extra width into their formation and our system is undone. What was the point of this formation again?
I'd settle for being outplayed and thumped tonight if it means the management see it's not the way out of this division.

What an utter disgrace. Players and Manager.

Halifax are illustrating the point everyone is making - playing 4-4-2 with pace, width and confidence and making home advantage count. We're d1cking about with a feeble system, second to every ball and absolutely no threat at all.

Whatever system we play doesn't matter if those players are not doing their jobs. Second to everything and on the rare occasions we do get the ball, we give it away again.

Time to go Mr Hurst. We are getting outplayed regularly now. Outplayed for 90 mins by Nuneaton, 45 mins by Braintree and same again this half and that's only the last three games.

Certainly going to give Fenty food for thought tonight. As he seems likely to be considering giving Scott his cards I wonder if he's toying with the option of moving both of them on. There's no evidence one can continue their previous success without the other, maybe a clean sweep could bring some more positives, namely a change back to 4-4-2 and *possibly* a more settled dressing room (if there's anything to Hearns recent body language and Hannah/Cooks frustration)

A newly assembled team with off the pitch matters unsettling things and disrupted by injuries has played a newly promoted established team, high on home form confidence who have won something like their last 9 at home. Bit of perspective.

Or try a management team who have had 3 years to build a side to at least compete against a part time club. Mind you weve been outplayed by every part time team we have played this season.

Anybody who has seen us play this season knows we have been very very poor.

People will probably get a bit disappointed after a performance and a result like we got tonight. You think it's going well? In  many ways I think this is more depressing than Burton. Then there was the prospect of bouncing back, whereas tonight a fifth season down here seems very, very likely.

No clearly not going well but as i have pointed out....instability with squad availability, management instability, system adaptation and playing a team who are settled and confident after a promotion and very good run of form at home.
Its no good people just rolling out ...we should beat the likes of Halifax, Nuneaton cos we are Grimsby and we are full time......do you not think Luton have fallen into that trap for 6/7 seasons? We are all competing in the same league, Nuneaton are top FFS and proving what a decent side they are. Just because they didnt play in Division 1 in the 1950's doesnt mean they shouldnt be top.
I am concerned that he duo/solo have reshuffled their approach seemingly relying on Kerr/Paddy to be the magic formula but it appears to me neither are or will be and in that area of the pitch we have gone from a fairly solid pairing last season albeit a little uninspiring  to supposed quality passing midfield which appears cant pass, are slow, small and not physical.
It does appear however as they proved last season they will act quickly when things arent right and weild the axe, ie Jones draughted in now.
Still very early in the season after all.

No clearly not going well but as i have pointed out....instability with squad availability, management instability, system adaptation and playing a team who are settled and confident after a promotion and very good run of form at home.

Giving them a game would be a start.

I respect your opinion but ffs, we didn't just lose to those teams, we were comprehensively outplayed, and if you want to justify that by saying we are all in the same league, then so be it, but for me, it's not acceptable.

Losing, i can take, but not competing, when you have all the resources at your disposal is alarming.

Agreed Ginny. I've certainly not trotted out those lines and I knew it would be tough last night. I said before kick off that I thought a point would be a decent result. What was unacceptable was nothing to do with our opposition, but about our own complete lack of direction, application or any kind of mental or physical fortitude.
