McKeown; Magnay, Robertson, Nsiala, Pearson; Clay, Disley, Mackreth, Arnold; Pittman, John-Lewis.

Bench: Brown, Hannah, Parslow, Palmer, Jolley

Strong bench. If shop doesn't score at least we have a physical striker in Palmer to replace him with today.

Why have we got 3 strikers on the bench, not like Hurst would ever use them all  ;D

Really need Kiddy to beat Halifax to slow them up.

Why are we persisting with 4-4-2 at home? It has been shown time and time again that it is too easy for the opposition to nullify.

Going by the lack of twitter activity it must be a dull game as far. Will be 0-0 at half time and we'll probably win 1-0 again. Results over performances right now IMO

Ollie and Jolley will come on at 72 mins and combine for an 85th minute winner

Dire this. We look clueless in midfield and attack. Braintree should be winning after failing convert about 4 chances in 10 seconds. We're just hoofing it and Braintree are easily dealing with it every time.

That's exactly it. This is the wrong formation and line-up for this game - too easy to play against if you're decent, well organised and strong like Braintree are. Has Hurst got the balls to change it because this has got 'Grimsby Town 0' written all over it?

There was the problem, LJL chases wins lost cause and no one near him to pass to wheres Pitmann and the wingers? We are just too slow and negative

It's what I said in the other thread about long standing weaknesses:

Lack of urgency and speed of movement
Too much distance between players
Not set-up with enough attacking intent

Been glaring for season after season, and here it is again today.

Exactly. It is the same formation that has seen us lose 4 of our last 8 at home. I cannot believe Hurst is sticking with it, it's a head-in-the-sand sort of approach.

I take that back - pessimism says a late sucker punch - 0-1 to Braintree.  We won't score today!

We wont win the league because of our home form or they way we play at home....the atmosphere must be playing some part with that.  But we must win today must win.

Upto now this is the worst performance by Town I have witnessed this season, void of any idea all over the park, it's a good job Braintree are clueless too.

balderdash. The crowd haven't got on the player's backs today. We're just playing badly and Hurst doesn't have the tactical nous to change things.

How would people change it? I'd go:

                McKeown

Magnay Nsiala Pearson Robertson

          Disley   Brown   Clay

    Arnold                         Jolley
                     Palmer

At the game, atmosphere kept up for as long as it could in this dreary match, Braintree just here for the counter attack, given us a big scare, on the other hand we've not done a lot, we can pass it around nicely but not quick enough to make any real space in their packed half, need to just run at them and into their box more, doesn't matter if we keep losing it we do anyway, chance of a penalty or breaking though on goal is all we can really hope for until they start tiring out, until we're close to the box just try retaining it for longer rather than always trying to get forward, make them chase it more, just think we don't know how to play like a home team really, specially one that's a favourite to win

Yet somehow there is a need for over-the-top criticism of a team that's won 3 out of 3 in a week -- odd sense of appropriateness.

Yes seriously enough to get beat up at school when I was 13 rather than stay quiet about who I support. My point is money plays a big part in this and bigger crowds means bigger budget which means better players which usually means better results. Exciting football means bigger crowds, better atmosphere and if what the club are saying is true about needing the atmosphere to get the players going it aint going to work if the "entertainment" isn't there 9 games out of 10. Cant remember if your an exiled fan or not Nick but a trip to see Town isn't cheap for me so I pick and choose the home games I travel to.

When at half time we slowed down the recording of the goal line effort from our boy's in Grimsby's boardroom. It was agreed by both Grimsby and Braintree Directors it was a goal. The whole of the ball had crossed the line.

I missed the coach and drove 380 miles to see the game and again we did everything to at lease shared the point's. but again we did not take our chance's.

When you think this year we had more forwards than any other year yet we score less goals.

6 point's to be safe next 2 games.
