Today has been worrying me. The size of the crown almost indicates we won't play well. I've said all week 4 wins out of 5 will see us go up as champions! Let's not worry too much...

If we can get to half time without conceding another - then we have to go full on at Gateshead second half - immediate subs - Clay for Disley and Pittman for LJL to enable this.

Yes, I think so too. We went on an absolutely superb 8 game run but still never managed to catch Barnet. One bad result was always going to leave us struggling. Need Barnet to fail to win 2 of their last 4, plus Rovers to lose 1, plus we win all 4. Pretty unlikely.

We'll have to pick ourselves up and take on the playoffs. We're good enough to win them.

I did post after the final whistle, if we had attacked in the first half i really believe we would of steamrollered them judging by that 20 min spell when we scored

I think to keep going like that in front of a huge crowd, to pull one back at the end, I think that tells you how much the team want it. I still think we can do this, Bristol and Barnet arent perfect, they might slip up. UTM!!!

I think it will have to be the play offs,

Whether we can come top or not, that last goal feels massive in terms of morale.  Losing today could have really hurt and getting that late goal will mean the players go home with some consolation to take into Monday.  I kind of expected today to go badly - Gateshead, big crowd, manager of the month, everyone suddenly talking up our chances ... The season isn't over yet though.

Hurst did well to go three at the back and bringing Chappell on towards the end and it paid off with the equaliser.

There seemed to be a definate shift after half time as well with Arnold playing more centrally, Hurst got those two moves right today but felt that our first substitution was again 10 mins too late.
We had the purple patch, got the goal, but lost momentum and the Heed started to come back into it, a sub then could have added some impetus...it didnt happen, they scored and that was that regards getting all three points.

Really positive end for the team though with the late equaliser.

I thought we played well today, just wasn't our day but at least we didn't lose the game. We deserved the win I thought but credit to Gateshead they had a game plan and stuck to it.

Dissapointed but very pleased to see the comments praising town overall. A few weeks ago everyone would be slagging the team manager fenty etc. but it is refreshing to see town fans still upbeat and giving maximum effort for the team which is being equally matched by the players and staff. Credit for keeping going right to the end town. This was not a bad result or display, we need to remember that, results this weekend for once just didn't go our way. Plenty to play for. UTM

Good post! Pre Christmas the fans and team would possibly have given up at 1-2.

We played with a lot of grit and determination and made enough chances to have easily won but credit due this side battles to the end. A big plus to the fans today they were magnificent even when we fell behind (twice) that as got to lift the side the players responded well.

Looks like it could be the play offs but keep this run going lads your doing us proud it's a long time since I heard that much noise from the park Strangely I still feel it was like a victory, very odd?

The thing about this team is a never say die attitude which in the end will see us OK whether it be through the playoffs or automatically.
I thought we did everything we could to win this game but were unfortunate in the final crucial areas of the pitch, still a few twists and turns yet, at least a draw keeps our unbeaten run going

Took the Mrs today to BP first time (long story) I took my place in the pontoon and........

She loved it!!
Thought it was ace when we scored and asked why we didn't shoot more often and asked why the ref kept giving free kicks when (cheating Geordies) Gateshead kept falling over and why we had four or so bookings and there wasn't a bad tackle.

Come on Town!!

We were sat in the osmond yesterday and the noise from the whole ground was amazing at times! We could hear the pontoon perfectly and then when all the other stands join in it really made it feel and sound great which doesn't happen a lot at home games. I know the drum gets a lot of stick sometimes but I really believe he does help with games like yesterday and he got the crowd going at times.

I really thought my head was going to explode when Dizza scored and don't know what I will do if we get a last minute winner to get promotion 😁

lol yeah it was pretty good I was in the lower smiths when Jack got that screamer the guy next to me had a cup of coffee all over him lol.

Not from me it was his own.  Nice to see the ground rocking when we went one down a marvelous chant of Paul Hursts black and white army kept going round the ground until we scored.

Some people say big crowds intimidate our players lol absolute bullcrap you watch Arnold always revving up the fans the players love it.
