He wasn't at his best on Saturday but I'm surprised too. Glad we have full backs playing on either side. Toto defended brilliantly for most of Saturday but gives you nothing going forward.

Pearson may still be struggling with his knock in pre season. If not it is good to see that no one is undroppable - it sends quite a message to the players early in the season.

Agree it gives Hurst an 'excuse ' to give them a rollicking and keep there feet on the ground.

movement of the attacking 3 was excellent. Almond Arnold and Bogle had too much for Barrow who persisted in playing a 'sort of ' offside trap when they had no pace to get back.
Amonds movement is very good and although Bogle is more raw than a carrot he is a handful. Always been a fan of Arnold's touch and pace and he looks the part. tait was excellent too and Monkhouse with 2 goals and some clever and simple use of the ball will do us just fine.
Toto scoring too, just his 2nd ever pro goal!

Hope everyone who went today returns on Sat plus a few more!
Posted by: marinerjase, August 11, 2015, 10:22pm; Reply: 107
Easy win despite never hitting top gear imho. Scrappy opening, got in front and easy thereafter.

For me Arnold was again decent, this time in work rate and defensive job for the side. Gowling never gave Cook a sniff, Bogle is hugely entertaining to watch, Monkhouse very good in the air, looks fitter for playing. Clay covered the ground and tackled, Disley grew as the game went on. Like the look of Tait, and East was steady. Amond didnt really get into the game tonight.

Sure this wont go down well but thought Nsiala was average at best. Lapses in concentration, mistakes and poor distribution.

McMenemy's teams adopted the stance "We'll score more than you". Made for a very interesting spectacle (100 goals in the 71/72 Promotion Season). This team look as though they have every chance of going the same way AND we are better defensively!

One of the worst things about being a long way from BP is having to hear second hand about who played well. Sure Pete in Suffolk would agree, even watching the highlights doesn't tell you what a live game does. So we rely and trust good reports from our mates and the Fishy.

What I'm hoping and praying for after all these years of disappointment is a season for the kids to enjoy who have never experienced a promotion. Last night was a great start, a marker. Another dominating performance on Saturday with a big crowd will frighten a few teams.

UTM. This time next year let's be celebrating our first home win back in the League.

Can you remember them type of performances we used to get , you know them one off games were we pass the ball and look very good well thats what we got tuesday .

We have been consistent with these performances through pre season so things do look good.

We certainly look to pass the ball alot more.
