So he drops Bogle again,  so unless he plays a blinder he's going to get dropped  for the next game.  It's a shame Hurst doesn't do this for a few other of the players that are in the squad

His pets back in and his pats back in.

God i feel sorry for bogle, he cant get a fair run in the team.

On hursts head it'll be- that said hoban made a difference against eastleigh. Monkhouse is in for his height and i totally understand that change. Braintree are a big team

Dropping Bogle is, in my opinion, a dreadful decision, and Stewart not in the squad at all. If that's not for an injury I am bewildered.  ??)

[size=18]So no goals Hoban and the very slow Bob Monkhouse are back. Best we can hope for is a nil- nil draw. For goodness sake go for the throat will you and put to bed these part time pub teams. Hurst is turning into the biggest tinker man ever. ??)

So once again he changes his team to cater for  A big bruising pub side well done Hurst

Tinkerman strikes again!! the team did nothing wrong on Saturday we had19 shots at goal with 12 on target on another day we would of won 5-0, Claudio Ranieri's keeps the same team week in week out so why cant we?

Agree with Grimps if Hurst had played with the same team week in week out we would be top of the league now.

4 games in 5 games 1500 miles for Braintree last season. Now there's match fatigue for you. Squad of 18 part-timers this season. Amazing what good management can do.

Interesting comments from Tait. Getting back to keeping clean sheets. Oddly we achieved this whilst dominating the game. By battering the opposition (albeit without scoring). Hmmm. Maybe there's a lesson in there.

Amazed at Paul's comments that he is surprised that Mr Monkhouse is declaring himself fit maybe, and that Mr. Monkhouse doesn't really want to be on the subs bench, because he might have to be 'wheeled on' if required at his stage of his career.

Hopefully, the whole thing is just a wind up - and Mr Monkhouse will drive Town on to victory tonight.

IF we had a half decent positive thinking manager with these players we could have walked the league this season. IMHO of course. ;>)

I seem to remember Bogle and Stewart getting praise from Hurst and on here for helping turn around the Aldershot game and so they earned a start against Eastleigh.

Then against Eastleigh the comments on here were that Bogle and Stewart didn't do enough and Hoban made a difference when he came on.

Also it's possible Stewart isn't fit enough to play twice a week.

Since we didn't score on Saturday and we have games thick and fast, it makes sense to me to freshen things up.

Sadly even if PH gets us promoted there will be those saying he should have done it two years ago...

I'm bored of our manager. Chance to show faith in a couple of players instead of his pets. Hurst, just do one at the end of the season. Bogle must be tearing his hair out and the rest of the squad scratching their heads at Monkhouse walking straight back in. He must have had a stormer first half at Aldershot. You couldn't make it up.

Or maybe try to play your best side every game. Consistency might give the team a clue how to play together.

Games coming thick and fast. They're professional athletes.

Well it hasn't taken us long to resort to giving the ball away in the final third and lumping it to Monkhouse.

We'll have to do much better than this to break Brsintree down. We look no threat at all.

Some people said give Hurst some credit for the substitutions at Aldershot. Well, there's your proof. If Monkhouse and Hoban weren't injured they would have been out for the second half.

Season is over as far as I can see. This side are a shadow of what they were just one month ago. Paul Hurst is a load of Tosh.
Fizzle out in the play off semi finals is what is coming!
What a waste it was buying play off final tickets.

Need a bit of guile to break down this well organised bunch of cloggers. No wonder they haven't conceded many, but come on... With the squad we have at our disposal to generate absolutely nothing against Braintree is an absolute disgrace.

Not at the game tonight, but let me guess, our strategy is to pump and thump it aimlessly in the air towards our towering targetman.  In reality Braintree's  primeval centre backs are mopping it up.

The more you do think about it why doesn't he just stick with bogle ?

He seems to be the only player who will never get a fair crack ,monkhouse can be out injured look shite do nowt but still walk back in.

Another loan striker comes in doesnt look like scoring in the slightest but nudges bogle straight out.

I just cant figure it out and people wonder why paul hurst gets stick.

Hopeless Hoban and Bob Monkhouse contributing very little. Certainly not enough for either of them to justify their starting place. Really dire half, we look totally uninspired. Need some pace or creativity to break down a solid Braintree side who are content to stick 10 men behind the ball while we're in possession.

We've bought Monkhouse in because they're "a big side" Whoever thought f*cking giraffes could make a go of football?

Where does that leave the reasoning behind team selection?

We want Bogle!

It is truly gash. Fail to see why Hoban is selected ahead of Bogle. He looks half the player. None of our attacking players are contributing much to the game really and all we are doing, once we've made it into their half is give the ball away. I can't see any justification for these selection decisions and there's no evidence on the pitch that it was the right thing to do. Changes at half time needed IMO

We only get half time changes when we're 2-0 down.
We can all see where this is heading, the same as we could all see where it was heading as soon as we saw the team sheet, the same as many other times over the last 5 seasons

GET BOGLE ON NOW!!!
This is not rocket science.
Bogle and Amond should have played all through the season unless injured.
They work well together and should have been allowed to develop.
This Hoban character has scored no goals in about 12 matches now.
Monkhouse needs a walking stick he is so slow. Aimless balls pumped up to him NEVER work!
Why did we get rid of Brown? He was just back from injury and could have had an impact?
I just don't know what is going on and neither do the players!

Could it be that, it is in Mr Monkhouse's contract that when he declares himself fit - the club must play him? Doesn't seem logical otherwise. P.H. seemed to be surprised that the player may be declaring himself fit in earlier interview, without actually saying he deserved a place in the side, but giving reasons why he shouldn't be on the subs bench due to mobility problems later on in a game.
Anyway, against the apparent odds, I hope Andy scores a winner.

Imagine being poor bogle knowing a biggish club (non league ) wise invests 50k in you so you think thats a good move , the next step up and then looking at pushing on.

You score a hatful of goals and cant stop scoring in the first quarter of the season and look lethal ,your buzzing getting games and confidence is high and look a proper player and are surely one of non leagues hottest properties.

You then are dropped shoved on the bench your confidence is completely shot by a manager who would rather play ben tomlinson , a striker who looked one of the worst to grace blundell park he goes so you think your chance might come again , No in comes another loan in alabi who never really looked great but himself never got a chance , he then moves on so you are then thinking now this must be my chance to resume my partnership that scored for fun earlier in the season but NO in comes a bloke who again looks like he cant score a goal for the life of him.

If i was bogle i would seriously want answers ,totally strange and none of it makes any sense.

Get Jennings to get down the flank. Boggle in the middle and run at them it's not rocket science why play a 50% fit player with no pace???

Starting with the next game presumably....

No change here - losing 1-0 to a physical team after making most of the play !!

a few weeks ago we looked like nailed on for third place. At this rate we wont make the playoffs. and on this form there is little chance we would make it through.

F**king pathetic.

The sad thing is that it's not a surprise. Most of us expected this.

It was all going to be so easy. We would cruise to 3rd with a week to go, and rest all the key players at Tranmere ahead of the play offs.

Fat F**cking chance of that now.

We will probably need points from the Tranmere game to sneak in to 5th place.
Posted by: RoboCod, April 12, 2016, 9:42pm; Reply: 133
Hurst didn't realise that last Tuesday was itself a blip in coming back with 4 goals. He now sends out his preferred toothless setup with the fallback plan of chucking Bogle and Jennings on to claw the game back, a tactic approved and seen as astute by absolute nobody else on the planet.

Two home games to play-off contenders in 4 days and no goals, and 1 point. There are no excuses, it's just p**s poor management.

Bizarrely - Town can still get promoted.
But P.H. needs to take a long hard look at himself (have a holiday) and let the team pick itself - just like in the play ground, let the skipper pick the team - players know players best.

Before the game I was cautiously optimistic.

After that, we look like we may just scrape into playoffs, but with no grounds for optimism.

I may have wasted my early-bird play-off final ticket, but may have avoided 2 wasted journeys to Wembley.

I will stick to golf, thank you-I have only myself to blame if I don't win, and there is a Green Jacket to play for next year.

Arnold and Monkhouse have found nothing tinight, they need to be attacking down the wings and getting the ball driven across but too offer we don't even beat the full back. Poor.

We are starving Amond of chances, we don't move the ball quick enough and give our part-time opponents time to fathom out our predictability.  Too slow in moving the ball and too slow attacking the opposition. Poor

Too much tinkering week after week from the manager when there appears to be no need.  Poor

Anyone and Bogle strucknup avoid partnership at the start of the season, admittedly Bogle is still learning but he makes a bad judgement in the use of social media and hevis left out of the side by PH. Does this coincide with the slide in results???????

Wake up PH, wake up Town as a team.

if we don't go up I suggest a total boycott of the Fart Trophy final.  Let them play in front of an empty stadium as a sign we had had enough of losers running the club.

We have become the laughing stock of the football world.

Those 'giant' clubs Cheltenham and FGR make us look like the mugs we are.

You have to be very mediocre to keep a club of this size treading water in this s*it league.

We make Scunthorpe look like Real Madrid. We have been below them for what, ten years now? Or more?

Shame on the management, owners and directors of this club for overseeing this shambles. Just go, the lot of you.

If you can get angry about the views of a few people who don't agree with you then perhaps you need to get a new hobby. Actually I did think you'd given up posting because you were "strangely silent" when the team was winning. I could find your attitude to people who don't agree with you equally patronising but to be honest my skin is thicker than that. I think you might be waiting rather a long time to get an apology from people whose only "sin" as far as I can see is not agreeing with you on a messageboard.
