Lots of changes made in the attacking areas to rectify our impotence.

If you can’t rely on your center forward to track back you’re struggling.
I’d put Killip on for Vernon. 😄😄

Paul Dixon is a fraudulent wage thief.

Only chance of note we've created was a Jones header from a Woolford cross a few minutes before half time which their keeper made a really good save from. Other than that Town have been appalling (again).

My thoughts exactly......right back to how we started the season...just sitting back and inviting them on......park the bus to ensure you dont give the game away cheaply by all means but not by sitting that fking deep...edge of the box at least.....

However...for me that should start with McKeown....he doesnt command his area...he allows the back four to do what he should be doing by letting them drop back onto his 6 yd line....he should be screaming for them to get out and give him some room.

We have allowed them to cross balls into the box at will for 40 minutes sooner or later one of them will drop for someone.

Fortunate that on balance of play its not a disasterous scoreline.

Exeter are pulling us apart without even having to put any effort in. They let their guard down briefly and their keeper made a good save. We are sat too deep and its forcing us to hoof the ball forward its so disheartening to watch this time and time again knowing the management don't think theres anything wrong. We've got a decent side if used correctly but that will never happen.

Think this is actually our worst side since Hurst/Scott's first season. The majority of our players are past their peak and aren't going to improve. Really sad to see us going in the wrong direction.

Seeing as though Woolford hasn't really contributed much since his goal at Accy Stan, DJ should be getting more of a chance in that position

That's even more outrageous than Steve Wraith's claim this week.

We have a slow back four that we have to set up the rest of the team to protect them. I'd only have Collins in there if I was picking a squad.

We have a central midfield who by all accounts are playing out of their skins but can only produce less than bang average performances when compared to the rest of the division and a true journeyman in Woolford. I'd only have Dembele out of that four.

Scott Vernon never has and never will be anything other than a hardworking carthorse who doesn't score goals.

So I only like the look of Mckeown (at a push), Collins (but he's 36), Dembele and Sam Jones out of who are playing today.

All the stats, other than points gained, point to us being a bottom of the table side.. We hang on in games and hope to nick goals.

The two Ozzys, Mills and DJ could make a difference but that would still only make us an average side.. Season number 16 on the trot to write off and it's only November..

Honestly I think Slade thinks time served pro's will be able to grind something out, that's why they keep getting selected.

He's said several times and seems quite proud that we are in a lot of close games. He's just trying to grind out point's, Nick the odd win here and there imho.

Slades post match interview will go as follows.
We weren't at the races for a while but we made changes in 2nd half which allowed us to push on. I thought we were unlucky to concede the 2nd goal as they caught us on the break. We'll review this when we get back to see if theres anything we can do. I thought we worked the ball well in parts but we just need to be more ruthless in the final third.

It’s not just the ‘nil’. It’s the set up and the squad that was always designed for ‘nil’

And we were lucky to get nil !

Boring illegitimates. Every single game is an absolute chore.

Looking at the report it looks like we were lucky to get no goals!

Been supporting Grimsby for 63 years. I think this is the nearest I have been to throwing in the towel. It is not even enjoyable going to the match anymore.

Please, please sort it now Mr Fenty before the crowd give up and stay away.

Well in fairness to Russ , one of the oldest rules in football is that you dont change a non winning side ...or something like that.. :-/

toothless, blunt, pedestrian  for several weeks now but still kept the same starting 11....same team = same fking outcome of zero goals and zero threat.

plus .......
the lad who scored their first goal cost them 100k so thats the quality we are up against.....
you know despite their possession i thought we were comfortable, Macca's hasnt really had a save to make apart from the two goals....

edit ...
oh and of course..

well disappointing to end the unbeaten run, we hadnt lost in the league for 7 games..

I don't need bullying. I'm not going until Slade felicitations off. Oh, and preferably Fenty too! 😀

Do we have a decent side? On paper it looks distinctly average

If we tried attacking football (I know a crazy concept in "modern" Slade times) I think we could.

Macca

Mills, Collins, Clarke (no other option really Osbourne maybe), Davies (I refuse to play Dixon now)

Clement, Summerfield, Osbourne (once fit till then Berrett)

DJ, Jones, Demebele leading the attack

I do genuinly think we could get somewhere with a squad like that, a bit of pace and a bit of skill on the ball only issue is the lack of pace at the back.

Vernon as our striker  Berrett and Summerfield as the midfield = piles

I didn’t go today JB nor Plymouth, though I thought the games previous Summerfield was one of our better players.

We'll be changing sock colours/dugouts for 'luckier' ones in the next month I reckon.

Bright red (so we can ping the ball to each other with unerring accuracy) and right-hand side on the Findus Stand side of the pitch are my suggestions. Then we can kick on....

Utter bilge again >:( No pace in the team, 2nd to nearly every ball, only Dembele DJ Jones and Summerfield seem to have any ability with the ball and able to get around the pitch quickly. Non of our strikers can trap or shield a ball regularly (I include Jones in that but at least he can get away from his man occasionally when he does control it.) I just cant believe how poor we are.

We haven't won at Exeter since the 1990-1991 season (in Old Division 3) during AB's first spell.

Slade interview on RH now

Played a good side pushing for promotion

Disappointed with the start, mainly us defending and then poor decisions led to their goal

We stayed in the game and then they got a second

DJ came on and made an impact but we just huffed and puffed

Didn't take chances when they came along

We've been resilient lately but the difference today was not doing the basics well enough

They didn't create much -  not many opportunities from either side

He's stuck with this group but if he has to make changes he'll consider it

He was looking forward to the game but we came up short

Football is about responding with determination..... take the negativity and the positivity

Too many who didn't have decent games today

Why. we continue to start Vernon I don't know, lacks pace, not really a goal threat at all and i just don't see what he offers us at all to be honest. Get rid of dixon ffs and woolford has had his chance as well. flipping shite signing old past it players rather than up and coming players from non league which is the way to go. We've done this before slade it got us relegated, I don't mind collins and mills and Davies but would of kept Pearson for the other slot.  Every team attacks dixon they know his the weakness and they exploit it and were slow at attacking teams on the break we give them time to get back. Our team lacks pace and creativity in midfield. I would get rid of them all except macca, mills, Davies, Collins, dembele, Jones and Osbourne and that's be being brutually honest. I know Summerfield has been decent of late but how many assists has he got 1-2 and how many goals 0 we need a good clear out starting from the pissing top.

I'm sick & tired of watching 2 teams not create very much and we end up with at
best a 0-0 draw or we lose 1-0
Come on Slade it's just not working let the players be creative and attack the opposition we might
concede 2 or 3 but we might score a few ourselves and at least we would have something to get excited about
40 years plus of watching Town and for the first time I am thinking of giving up, even relegation from the football league didn't have me feeling like this, enough is enough

Exerer had just gone 4 games without a win inc. a home defeat to Port Fail and currently below us in the current form table, does he think before makes excuses, what a chance. team with a big slump in form so does he go for it, attack from the start, get a quick goal, wreck any confidence they may have remaining, Nooooo  thats too risky, lets sit back and let them get a bit of control. :(
