Grimsby as expected named an unchange side.

Accrington Stanley came out the strongest side and Town had to rely on Henderson to make several saves in the opening half hour.

However Town weathered the storm and in the final 15 minutes of the second half Grimsby had several chances to take the lead themselves.

Town started the second half strongly and Arthur made a terrific save to deny Conlon.

With 20 minutes to go Symes got on the end of a Turner cross and gave the visitors the lead.

Kevin Arthur made a great reflex save from Conlon to keep Stanley in the game.

Henderson tipped a shot over from a corner to keep daylight between Town and a point.
