Town started with Peacock and Coulson in place of Sweeney and Proudlock.

Town got off to the worst possible start, conceding a goal on just 4 minutes. From a free kick the ball was played back to Chris Herd who headed the Imps ahead.

After 18 minutes Widdowson set up Wright with a cross but the veteran striker's shot was straight at the 'keeper.

5 minutes later a shot by Wright was tipped away by the 'keeper for a corner.

On 30 minutes Atkinson headed over from a free kick just a yard out from goal.

On 33 Broughton had a golden chance to make it two but shot when he should have passed.

Town equalised from a free kick. The ball came up in the air and Peacock poked the ball in from amongst a crowd of players on the line.

The first half finished 1-1.

Straight after the restart Coulson made a terrific run down the right side and crossed to Peacock whose shoot took a deflection to give Town the lead.

Within minutes Coulson played the ball to Devvitt who passed to Widdowson who drove his shot just side from a good position.

13 minutes into the second half Atkinson pulled back Gillmore and the referee awarded a penalty. Gillmore took the penalty kick which was saved by Colgan but the ball bounced back to Gillmore who lashed it home.

A minute later Chris Herd had a goal disallowed but was adjudged to have made a foul.

Peacock the missed a chance for his hat trick from close range when Coulson once again set him up in the six yard box.

Lincoln's Watts was carried off and taken to hospital with a head injury with 20 minutes left.

In the 90th minutes Hudson headed a goalwards shot upwards and onto the bar.

The ref played 7 minutes of injury time and in the seventh minute he missed a blatant handball by a Lincoln defender.
