Town came close to beating Cambridge, having a deflected goal disallowed, shots which hit the woodwork, and a few point blank saves, to stop them claiming a win against Cambridge. The home side had their chances too but Grimsby were the stronger side over 90 mins and deserved the win if either side did.

The games was marred by a first half injury which caused Andy Cook to go off with concussion.  Live Scores
