Alan Buckley started with a new strikeforce of Jones and Butler. Ryan Bennett also came into the starting line up.

Town made a promising start and got the goal their play deserved after 30 minutes. Hegarty burst into the box after playing a 1-2 with Butler, and slotted the ball past Harrison.

Just before half time Town added a second, Butler latching on to a ball headed down to him, and turning and firing it past the Barnet keeper.

Bolland made it three a few minutes after the break when he dispossessed Nicolau then ran on and slotted the ball past Harrison.

Akurang headed a Barnet reply with 10 minutes to go.

After a mini scare Butler set up Taylor who made no mistake to restore Grimsby's 3 goal advantage.
