The FA Trophy match between Nuneaton and Grimsby Town was delayed due to heavy traffic. Town's coach had been heavily delayed and the match kicked off over an hour late.

Magnay scored a deserved opener for Town after 25 minutes.

In the second half Nuneaton had a player sent off and then Mackreth added a second. Town won 2-0.

Town: McKeown; Magnay, Parslow, Pearson, Thomas; Mackreth, Disley (c), Brown, Arnold; Pittman, John-Lewis
