Nsiala and Magnay returned for Town.

Arnold had two good chances for Town in a generally low-key half hour. Then Gateshead had an efforrt cleared off the line a few minutes before half time.

Early in the second half Chandler cleared a Pearson header off the line.

The game drifted to a dull and disappoining end and will go to a replay next week - the worst possible outcome of today's game.
