Bogle returned to the starting line-up, and Stewart started.
Town started the better of the two sides and the 'keeper made a point-blank save from Bogle's strike. The pressure continued through the first half.
Town got a break early in the second half when Eastleigh's Payne received a red card for a reckless challenge on Tait.
The Mariners continued to pound the Eastleigh goal but were frustrated all afternoon and the match ended goalless.
