Grimsby v Southport Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 30/09/2014

PAUL Hurst has a straight decision whether to start with striker Lenell John-Lewis or continue with teenage loanee Rhys Oates. John-Lewis came off the bench in Saturday's win over Chester, while Oates probably doesn't have the fitness to last 90 minutes.

The chances are both players will feature for a fair part of the game, it's just a question of who begins the match.

Another forward who enters the equation is Nathan Arnold, who came off the bench at the weekend to score a late goal. Arnold though will probably have to settle for a place on the bench.

Southport, who have former Town players Richard Brodie and Clayton McDonald in their squad, have not won for 28 away games. But they have a great record against the Mariners. Town have beaten Southport just once in eight Conference games, and Grimsby have not beaten their visitors at Blundell Park since the 1970s.
