Nine-Match Run Comes to an End

GRIMSBY put in another disappointing home performance when they lost on Saturday to promotion-rivals Kidderminster despite the away side's recent financial set back. Town conceded a goal at the start of both halves, which immediately threw Paul Hurst's game plan into disarray on both occasions.

The first goal by Marvin Johnson came from a breakaway from an early Grimsby corner, and then Jack Byrne headed a second from a Harriers corner at the start of the second half. Grimsby had several chances to score in both halves but their 'keeper saved what Town managed to get on target.

All in all it was a disappointing display but the one consolation is that other results generally went their way and Grimsby remain second. Town have a quick chance to get back on track when they play third place Woking on Tuesday night. Leaders Barnet travel to pre-season favourites Bristol Rovers, so a positive set of results could see Grimsby's position in the table improve.
