James Wyatt (212.67.102.138)- Octo 15, 2001 - 1:07:52
Wilmslow [Cheshire]
Football is our national game. Grimsby Town FC are competing at the highest level of all the clubs in our region, yet have one of the poorest grounds with some of the most outdated facilities anywhere in the country. We are long overdue an improvement which would benefit both the football club and the people who support it through the year.

Tony Walker (62.254.0.4)- Octo 15, 2001 - 0:59:28
Grimsby [England]
It is vitally important Grimsby Town get a new stadium at Great Coates as without it they cannot survive, i also speak for many Town fans who do not have internet access.

ian wood (62.254.0.4)- Octo 15, 2001 - 0:56:46
The club and the fans are crying out for this new ground so come on UP THE MARINERS

Adam Smith (62.254.0.4)- Octo 15, 2001 - 0:51:34
Grimsby [England]
The new stadium is long overdue. Blundell Park is not right for the club. This club is the only team in its area, so it needs somthing to bring back all the fans. a new stadium will do this. away fans are sick and tired of going to blundell park. it is old, small and scruffy. a new stadium will be big for this town it will attract people to grimsby and will be a massive boost for the town and football club.

Long overdue.

T R Clarkson (217.32.143.223)- Octo 15, 2001 - 11:54:45
Norwich [UK]
We need a new ground to grow. The only viable site is Gt.Coates.

Mike Dunderdale (128.40.25.120)- Octo 15, 2001 - 11:51:58
London [UK]
I am a native of North Lincolnshire (Goxhill) - although currently in London - I've seen what a difference a new stadium has made to two of my local teams - Millwall and Charlton (I live in the vicinity of Charlton, and used to live near Millwall FC) - and feel that we need to do this to compete, and give some local pride back.

Michael Peart (195.93.48.156)- Octo 15, 2001 - 11:50:30
Kimmeridge,Dorset [U.K]
There are numerous recent examples of Football Clubs building new grounds and prospering as a result. If this new ground is not built, and there is nowhere else to put it,our Football Club will fade away in a few years as the financial resources of the Club at Blundell Park will lead to Administration. In North Lincolnshire there are no other sports facilities or indeed comparable Clubs to support.Obviously therefore it is imperative that GTFC survive.
It is a well known fact that any new development anywhere in Britain will have a few objectors. They are of course permitted their opinion and it is quite correct that they should be heard. These people are normally very vocal, however they are wrong and are a very small minority.

michael murray (195.70.86.234)- Octo 15, 2001 - 11:34:09
London [England]
I can't believe that so many teams below town, still have better facilities then us. How does the council or the directors expect any outside investment when we still play in a shed.

Marie Mawer (62.254.0.4)- Octo 15, 2001 - 11:12:11
Grimsby [N.E. Lincs]
Grimsby Town FC and the town of Grimsby desperately need a new stadium, it is the only way the football club can generate the income needed if they are to survive as a professional outfit. Redeveloping Blundell Park is not a viable option.
I am strongly in favour of the stadium being developed at the Great Coates site, as studies have showed it is the only viable site in the area. I do not accept the objections of the Great Coates residents, the proposed site is far enough away from the village to have little impact upon it and will actually improve the outlook for some by obscuring the industrial estate with the proposed landscaping etc.
The towns of Grimsby and Cleethorpes need this developement for the prestige, much needed jobs, revenue and pleasure it will bring to ALL the people of the area.
This area has suffered a number of setbacks when ambitious developements have been refused at the planning stage. PLEASE don't let this happen again.

Paul Coulson (194.131.7.252)- Octo 15, 2001 - 10:34:20
Lecthworth [Herts]
Apart from the self-centred opinions of a bunch of NIMBYs, I fail to see any reasonable objection to something that is likely to stimulate the local economy.

RICHARD DODD (62.60.54.51)- Octo 15, 2001 - 10:26:07
Grimsby [NE Lincs.]
Long overdue. Will bring fortune to Great Coates

Bill Coxon (216.183.159.42)- Octo 15, 2001 - 09:37:31
Collingwood. Ontario. [Canada]
After recently seeing a game at Blundell Park, I realise it is imperative for the future of GTFC that they have a new ground. Bp has seen its day and should be replaced as soon as possible

Matty Ladson (62.254.0.4)- Octo 15, 2001 - 09:30:35
Cleethorpes [England]
The ground move would not only help increase the profile of Grimsby Town FC, but of the town it self and the surrounding area(s).
If the club is to move forward in the modern game then this move is the perfect way to do so, in truth we can no longer survive at BP. The ground will attract bigger calibre of players and thus give the Mariners that edge to maintain stability in division one and perhaps eventually make that step to the Premiership (or am I only dreaming!)

Graham Scott (194.6.79.172)- Octo 15, 2001 - 09:23:53
Oldham [UK]
A new ground for GTFC is vitally important for the future of the football club. A successful GTFC is important to the town, helping to create pride, and raise the profile of the town.

Ian Rodwell (195.195.43.244)- Octo 15, 2001 - 08:52:40
Cleethorpes [UK]
Grimsby need a new ground if they are going to survive, and move forward as a football club - the people of Great Coates have got to remember that there is no other site, and with all of the Humber factories they cannot really claim to be an idylic village!
