Grimsby Town are interested in signing Cameroon international striker Samuel Ipoua on loan. 27-year-old Ipoua, who helped fire French club Toulouse to promotion last season and who has played in Italy's Serie A with Inter Milan and Torino is the latest overseas target of manager Lennie Lawrence.

Ipoua, currently out of favour with Toulouse, has had trials with both Bolton and Everton recently, and is now looking to the Mariners to kick-start his career. He scored for the Toffees in a pre-season friendly against Yeovil, but failed to strike a deal with either of the North West clubs. The Cameroon internationl played 27 times for Toulouse last season, scoring eight goals, and has five international caps for his country. He is known as a temperamental player with a poor disciplinary record but is said to be highly-regarded by Cameroon. Ipoua, a French passport holder, cost Tolouse £1.25 million from Austrian side Rapid Vienna in August 1998.
