Question of the Week

Who will go down?

Campbell Departure

On-loan midfielder Stuart Campbell has returned to Filbert Street after completing his two-month loan spell with the Mariners. 22-year old Campbell was understood to be discussing his future with both Leicester City and Grimsby Town officials today.

Campbell's oppurtunities with the Foxes are limited in that the Scot has to compete alongside Neil Lennon, Muzzy Izzet, Robbie Savage, Stefan Oakes and Billy McKinlay (on loan from Blackburn) for a place in the Filbert Street first team. Town boss Lennie Lawrence has said in the past that the loan deal is to the benefit of both parties at this stage in Campbell's career. Grimsby are keen to take Campbell on loan until the end of the season after an impressive spell at Blundell Park and it is expected that a decision on the young Scot's future will be made before the end of the week.
