The Early Poll Debate

The Early Poll Debate

Hear their views and YOU decide in our latest 'fishy' poll.

Bert & Fred

The Early Poll Debate

FRED:
This is daft. You cant have a player of the year poll after a quarter of the season.

BERT:
When you keep missing games and run out of things to talk about you can. Goalie first then, there's only Coyne, but he has had a super start to the season.

FRED:
He has saved us a few points for sure. He's an early favourite. I'm afraid poor old Gallimore is out the running though and also I'm not voting Groves either. I think he's feeling his age a bit now. Handyside is back but not for long enough yet and Macca has missed a few through injury. Butterfield has looked good at times but a bit out of it when put into midfield. There's no big stars in defence for me yet.

BERT:
Midfield then. Stacy has been about 80% of last year. Poutons dropped out the frame. Great to see Burnett back but too soon to vote on.

FRED:
Donovan is getting some of his old form back, except for scoring goals. Its amazing to think he once scored over 20 in a season. What happened to Dave Smith by the way?

BERT:
There's nielsen up front in with a shout despite only a few games, but my vote would probably go to Livvo. New lease of life under Lennie and he looks faster and fitter.

FRED:
Don't forget Bradley Allen who has worked hard too. He has to be up there.

BERT:
OK My shortlist is Livvo, Coyne, Allen, Nielsen, Handyside, as best player

FRED:
I'll go Nielsen, Coyne, Caldicott, McDermot and Allen

BERT:
Best young player must be Butterfield

FRED:
Yes but Bloomer, Chapman and young Rowan have had run outs too.

BERT:
One things for sure…this list will change by the year end I'm sure of that. You watch Wayne Burnett take off. We can still make the play offs you know…..

FRED:
